Well, I have to confess I had three ice cream days since Friday, and it was really hard yesterday to stay on my program, but I did it. Today is already turning out to be a challenge, too.
To look at it positively, however, before I could have eaten the whole pint of Haagen Daz ice cream all by myself. This time I shared it with my husband. And I've maintained my water and exercise throughout those three days of eating unplanned foods.
We CAN do this, we CAN do this. . .

Not that I'm happy other people are struggling, but it's a relief to hear that you guys are going through the same thing that I am. Things have been going great for more than a year now, but I see that I'm really cutting corners, not working out, and even think about just bagging it all. This board is such as wonderful place to go and feel like I'm not alone. We can get through this...and we can't go back to the way things were after seeing how good life is when we're living better!

Okay, Funny story.
I went to the Doctor's today. It was time for my physical and I wasn't thrilled because last time he told me to lose some weight (like I didn't know that) and I've lost some weight but not nearly as much as I wanted to. ANYWAY, I got weighed and I'm sitting there waiting for him (and he is such a hottie!) and he breezes in and says, "Whoa! You've lost like 20 pounds since the last time I saw you! WAY TO GO! What are you doing different?"
And I sat there annoyed, "Woo hoo, I lost 20 pounds in 6 months. "
He was a bit confused. "No, that's good. Do you know how many people I tell to lose weight and they don't lose any? This is great. Whatever you're doing, keep it up."
I think it's the first time I've gone to the doctor and been pleased with the visit!

Jessica - that is AWESOME! I always have to passive-aggressively get my doc to compliment me. I say something like, "Um, how much did I weigh the last time I was here?" He looks and tells me. Still doesn't get it. I then say, "How much did I weigh today?" Then he figures it out. "Oh, yeah. Way to go."
Good for your doctor for noticing! And good for you for doing it in the first place. That's a good, solid loss that is making a lot of different to your heart and your joints!

Ok, I had a good weigh in today (and evening, never the less) and am down 2lbs. I have started to do a work out video twice a day, once in the morning (walk away the lbs) and one in the evening (bellydancing). I am really feeling them, but that's good.
My money problems are not getting any better and I am now trying to get a job. Hopefully I'll hear from some one soon.
Well I know it's not much, but I really don't know what else to say, so I'll check in again later,

Off. Out of State, but not out of mind
Happy July 4th to all. I'll be back near my keyboard late Tuesday.
I intend to walk and stay away from Sugar Island.
Good luck to all.

Whew!
Things have been crazy around here lately! Just got home from a quick weekend in Florida visiting my sister--she moved to Tampa in April. Went with my mom and sister-in-law. Great weekend, depsite the lack of sunshine. Swam in the gulf (mom freaked out when we got to the 3rd boye, then really freaked out when she found out we couldn't touch there ) Went to the Pier in St. Petersburg, shopped at International Plaza, and spend tons of time at Clearwater beach eating seafood.
Now I'm getting ready to head off to Atlanta for a week in the middle of the month, and plan lessons for confirmation camp the week after that. Also doing long term planning for the school year for the high school youth group and confirmation. I found a place to weigh in at while I'm in Atlanta, and will find one for the week I'm at camp too, don't like to miss that ya know.

Well, today wasn't a great day. I attended my husband's grandmothers funeral. It was sad, and very hard to explain to the girls. But I think they are ok with it.
But I am SO SORE from my workouts. I am supposed to do another tape today, but I don't know if I want to do one. It's just been a long day.
I got 2 mesages from my husband on the answering machine. I missed talking to him and that is a bummer as well. I was at the funeral when he called. He just wanted to tell me that he got the news about his grandmother. He still sounds good. I'm glad about that.
Today was not a good food day either. I ate not so bad after the funeral, but then we went to denny's and I had a side of fries with brown gravy and a slice of cheese cake.
Ok, I'm GOING to have a better day tomorrow. I am going to stay on program and I'm going to drink a lot of water!
LOL, I just talked my self into taking the pain and doing my workout. (Now this is why I have to come here more often, lol)

Jessica--How'd it go w/the potluck today? Mmmmm, homemade beer! Also, yeah, it seems like we had a lot more people here last fall & especially right after the New Year. My dr is always less than impressed w/my weight. I can't wait to "wow" him. Jerk.
Apryl: Doncha love life in a small town? Sounds like your summer is going great so far!
Sandi: I have sent you a PM. I have shoes too, but nobody wants those by the time I'm done w/em.
Jennelle: Glad to hear you're doing better, hon. *hug* That is what I'll do w/any "leftovers" from the sale.
Angi: Hope you're doing well on Atkins.
Jo, mthrgoos68 & AmyJ: I know what you mean, I've been there the last 4-6 weeks. I have to re-dedicate myself. I'm trying!
Sheila: I had some ice cream Wednesday. If I'm going to cheat, I'm going to make it worth it! I still love your avatar, such a beautiful, beautiful boy!
Bella: Good luck w/the job search. My thoughts are w/you. THis is not an easy economy.
Holly: Good wishes!!!
PainterWoman: Welcome! I hope you had a good holiday!
Daners: Sounds like you've been having some great vacations, good luck in HOTlanta.
As for me, the potluck went exactly as expected--I brought chips & salsa, and everyone else brought chips, so many in fact that we had 4-6 bags leftover, I was sending them home w/random people. Nancy brought fresh cherries, I was so proud of her!
My car needs the seals replaced on the oil gasket. When I bought it, it had sat for 6 months, so that's what caused that, nothing that I did, but still. Not fixable for less than a few hundred dollars. so I think I'll just keep an eye on it while I look for a new car.
And a new job. I feel good about working there, but I could be paid a lot more elsewhere. Yes, I know money isn't everything, but it sure as heck pays the bills nicely! My friend has a line on something, so I'll be checking that out. Cross your fingers for me! It will be hard to leave friends behind, but I have to do what's right for me.
As for the rummage, we haven't done it yet, are shooting for next weekend. Tomorrow my friend is coming over & we are having a mini-fashion show where I decide what to get rid of & what to keep. Sandi, I won't forget about you! We have access to a digital camera, so I can take shots for you as well as maybe post a "me @ 280" pic in the Progress Pics thread.
My uncle Mike's picnic is Sunday, should be a lot of fun, I'm making a fruit salad. Kiwi, green grapes, blueberries, strawberries, pineapple, chunked up seedless watermelon, maraschino cherries (drained & syrup rinsed off--I'd rather use bings, but dont want any broken teeth ) . I'm also bringing my own piece of chicken to grill. My mother is bringing 2 kinds of bars. Some people just don't get it. Grrrrrr.

Holly! I have some of those same shorts! I started my journey in the winter (in Nebraska) though, so my before clothes are some jeans that I thought I looked pretty hot in--yeah right
You're looking great! Very cute swimming suit! I had to get a new one before we went to Florida, almost didn't but then the little boys' (the ones I watch everyday) mom asked if I had packed a suit, and I said yeah. She was all...did you get a new one. I was all, no just threw the old one in and she said..Dana, when did you wear that last, and I figured it was about January, good thing, would have had a heck of a time keeping the old one on once it got wet I'm sure. I'm going back to Florida in October, so I'll probably try to pick up a suit a size or two smaller yet when they get marked down to near nothing at the end of the season, so I'll have one for the winter. They're tough little things to find in Nebraska in the winter. Oh well, theres always Lands End.
Someone at church (where I work) today did a double take when she saw me walk in the door, and was all, you're disappearing, look at you, you're disappearing! It's always great to start the day off like that!
