Valentine's/ 150 Day Challenge Anyone?

  • Monday September 16 is exactly 150 days until Valentine's day. I've decided to give myself a longer term challenge because I think it may keep me focused. Anyone in? Tell me what your goal is, what you're doing, what you're planning to reward yourself with.... Doesn't have to be a weight thing. Can just be an on plan or Fitness goal too!

    So here's MY plan for the next 150 days:

    80/20 balance: I want to be on plan most of the time, but I'm not going to beat myself up for things like Christmas

    Minimum 1000 minutes of exercise per month, would prefer 1500

    Ideally I would like to lose 35 pounds in this time frame (this is 21 weeks give or take, so that's just over a pound a week. This would put me at about 344.

    Care to join me?


    Oh. And if I make it... I'm banking my money right now for the ultimate do not need but oh so want luxury.... A Kate Spade purse.

    I actually just spent the last hour choosing a new food journal. I've been using myplate on livestrong, and may still go back to it, but it's calorie counts are way out to lunch a lot of the time. I'm playing around with calorie counter now. I'm also going to be way more careful with my portions
  • Let me know if you find one that is accurate and that you like. I have played around with so many of them and I find that I spend so much time correcting nutritional values or searching for matches. I always end up back with my old notebook.
  • I'm currently test driving calorie count, both the app and the online sight. I did a control experiment with lunch (eating only things with nutritional info on the package and measuring my portions, and livestrong is lower than calorie count by close to 400 calories, and almost all the info is off, Calorie count so far is pretty close, but the interface is taking some getting used to.

    Calorie count also lets you set non weight and non nutrient goals too.

  • Oh wow. My long term goal is to hit my goal on June 1st ... when my husband gets back from overseas. I have what my weight needs to be each day in order to get there. I don't expect holidays to be too much trouble, my family knows better than to interfere with this diet ... they've watched me derail too many times to every say, "But surely you can have one teensy little candy cane!"

    So my goal for Valentines day is 156 pounds. Just under 50 pounds of weight loss in 150 days, or two and a third pounds a week. Ambitious I know but so far I've been hitting my targets with no issues so I'm not ready to revise my goals just yet.

    So I'm on board. I'll have to think of a great reward, I definitely approve of your Kate Spade bag! I'll be traveling overseas on March 1st to visit my husband so if I reach my goal maybe I'll get something while I'm there, some stylish boots maybe.

    I've been off the bandwagon for a while, but I am in on this challenge! I stepped on the scale today and got a huge wake up call, so I'm ready to focus. I want to lose 50 pounds.
  • im thinking of having a goal range... I want to lose 43-50 lbs till the end of this challenge .. Yes , its ambitious, but it WILL keep me accountable... Im 198.6 today...
  • I am interested in joining this challenge. I've been seeing the same three pounds for over two months now. I really need to focus on nutrition and step up the time I spend exercising. I am currently at 185, I would like to lose 30 pounds by Valentine's day. I will weigh in on Monday's.

    Weight Goal: Lose at least 35 pounds (and more is ok) as that will put be at having lost over 100 pounds.......or I should say, the first 100 pounds.
    Exercise: Go to the gym at least 4 days a week. Do my yoga at home. Walk and gradually build up to walking at least 2 miles by Feb 14.
    Eating Goal: Stop the night time snacking habit!

    I'm set to lose 1.5lbs a week (my fitness pal) but currently I'm losing more like 2/2.5 however I have no idea how long that will continue. I guess I should be conservative in my goal so:

    CW:308.8
    Valentines day goal: lose 30-40lbs (more would be fab) for a weight of 278.8-268.8.

    Weigh in days for me are Fridays.

  • I'm in! We're going to Disney at the end of February and a Valentine's Challenge would be just the thing. I'm going to set my goal at 20 pounds. My weight loss this last two months have been soooooo sloooooooow. Since I'm 100+ pounds over weight I should be dropping faster, but I'm nt so... anyhow.

    So, my goals are 2250 of exercise by Valentines Day
    20 pounds by valentines day.
    I weigh daily, but my Weight Watchers meeting is on Friday and I consider that my official weight.

    GW: 220

    Week 1 Sept 16: 239, no exercise minutes, so I'd better step it up. 19 pounds to go!
