Default Jumping Back in. I think I'm ready.

Hi everybody,

Old-timer here. Lost more than 100 pounds and kept it off for two years then regained about 3/4 of it. Since my regain started, around Jan of 2012, I've gone back on plan three or four times and lost ten to fifteen pounds then gained it back.

Here are some things I hate about being this size:

1. Getting dressed: when I'm in a 2x to 3x I have such a hard time to find anything to wear. Once, I went to a formal dinner and ended up wearing a wool jacket over a tank. The room was blistering and everyone kept offering to take my coat, but the tank was skin tight and so I kept the coat on all night. Ugh.

2. Sleeping: I sleep so much better when I'm not so large. I wake myself up just rolling over, and my husband complains that I snore.

3. Travelling: I travel a lot and it's so stressful. Yes, I can buckle the seatbelt, but just BARELY. I always pay the extra money to preseat so that I can get an aisle. The seat next to me is always one of the last to fill up. It's embarrassing.

4. Stress: for me no exercise=stress=not coping=binging. I cope so much better when I get on a good exercise routine.

5. Eating: yup, when I'm not on plan, I eat so much I make myself sick. I eat when I'm not hungry. I eat crap that doesn't make my body feel good.

6. Avoiding people: which I can't do much because I have a very public job, but I hate meeting new people at this size. Life was so much easier when my BMI was under 30. People were friendlier and more respectful. I never felt like I stuck out.

I made a hair appointment, painted my toenails, bought a couple of new things to wear, because feeling fat and ugly is dragging me down and making it harder to commit to a new start.

:c arrot:

Glad to be back. I'm committing to give it my all.

Welcome back! Even though you gained some weight back, be proud of your losses, as they are no small feat!

What do you think contributed to gaining some back?

Losing over 100lbs is incredible! And because you did it once, you know you can do it again! Good luck!

I feel your discomfort! I gained back all the weight I lost (and then some) and I know we can both lose it again! I have the same problems, I feel sick when I overeat, can't sleep, don't feel like doing anything, don't feel like seeing anyone, can't find anything to wear, etc etc.

But, we can do this! We've got the tools, just gotta find the willpower!

Thanks guys.

Vex, I was doing really great for a long time. I held it together super well for more than two years, but then I hit a period of extreme stress-- really a lot more than what I would normally have to deal with, and I still held out for quite while, but then, I just kind of snapped and gained back a lot in a really short period of time.

Since then, I've managed to stave off gaining it all back back regaining and relosing the same 15-20 lbs, but I haven't been able to get on a roll the way I was before...

But, I know I can do it, because I did it before.

I honestly don't think I would have regained-- it was just terrible luck that I hit a really horrible period in my life with way too many upheavals and changes while I was also trying to learn how to maintain.

I hope my life is on an even keel now and I'll be able to focus on weight loss.

Hey Ubergirl! I am right there with you. I have been here before. A couple years ago. I lost a good amount of weight and I was down to 207lbs and then I gained it all back plus some and was up to 270ish. Back on track now and I'm down to 259. We can do it girl!

you've done it once, you can do it again! i also have to lose 100 pounds, and binging is a major problem of mine- the other night i got salt cravings and ended up eating over 2000 calories (my daily goal is 1500) by binging on saltines. however, i believe diets work best if you have 1 cheat day a week, in which you can eat all kind of stuff that you like as rewards for good behavior... but i still don't recommend going over 2000. and if the things you're eating make you not feel good, then DON'T eat them! rice-a-roni makes me feel sick even though i love the taste, so i simply stopped buying it. i love donuts, but i rarely eat them because they're more enjoyable as once-in-a-while treats. and if you ever need support, you can count on us :3 i don't know many of the people here yet as i'm pretty new, but i'm friendly and talkative and also quite knowledgeable about nutrition due to the fact that my grandmother used to study to be a dietician and my boyfriend is a physical trainer, so there is a lot of random food knowledge in my head. for instance: there are 210 milligrams of cholesterol in one large egg, whereas a single slice of bacon only has 6 milligrams. now, i'm not saying to eat more bacon and less eggs, but there are surprises like that all the time! if you ever wanna chat, you can pm me :3

Welcome back!

I was here in 2009 and then got totally stressed out by life so gained most of what I'd lost back (I'd lost between 40-50lbs).

We'll just have to keep trying until we get it right!
