Default Feeling down about progress

I look at my ticker some days and it brings me great pleasure. I look at it other days and it brings me great pain.

I have lost 44 pounds since November 1, 2011 really 44 pounds in 13 1/2 months?? I wonder why this is so hard for me, why I struggle with my eating, why I struggle with health issues that make it impossible for me to exercise and why I can't just "DO IT" like others I see on the board.

I had convinced myself that 44 pounds is nothing and I should be ashamed of myself. Then I went to Walmart to the fresh fruit and veggie department and picked up two bags of 20 pound potatoes and carried them around the store. Let me tell you I do not miss that 44 pounds!!

I really needed that reality check and now I realize that I am making progress no matter how little I lose or how long it takes I will get this weight off of me eventually! But I definitely do not miss those 44 pounds.

My Lowest Journey Weight: 242.8 - July 30, 2012
My Reboot Journey Weight: 286.6 - June 27, 2015

5% (272.3) | 10% (258) | Under 250 (249.9) | 15% (243.7) | Severe Obesity BMI (241) | 20% (229.4) | 25% (215) | 30% (200.8) | ONEderland (199) | 100 lost (186.6)

You'll never be able to deal with what's going on with your body until you deal with what's going on with your soul.

44 pounds is great progress! Think of how hard it would be to still carry those extra 44!

It gets very slow and very frustrating sometimes. But you'll get there!

I have lost the same amount of pounds and I do not miss them at all! Also I hope nobody else has found them. Good idea carrying the weight just for a reality check.
I guess we all have our days, we have to just make the good ones last longer

Think about all those people who have lost and regained in the time that you've lost those 44 pounds and are still going down. Who would you rather be?

Lose 25lbs by 15 April (10 Mar)
Get to 100 kg (220) by 1 May (7 Apr)
Be 205 by race day - 14 July
One-derland by 1 Sept

44 pounds is amazing progress! Some journeys are slower than others, but you're doing wonderfully. Each pound is another pound you don't have to cart around anymore, no matter how slowly it comes off.

Let's try this again!

I just noticed today that between June and October, I lost 50 pounds. Between October and January - 10 pounds. But you know what? I have lost 10 - 30 pounds more times than I can count. This time, I am maintaining a loss. I am doing a 21-day challenge to try to get that scale number to go down again, but part of me is more excited about the maintenance than the loss. I can lose. I have done it repeatedly. But maintenance? How exciting that I seem to be picking up that skill! And you have beaten the odds by maintaining losses (and accruing additional losses) for an extended period. Yay, you!!!

October challenge - 10/02/2015 - 11/01/2015

Wedding challenge - 06/09/2015 - 08/09/2015 - Not successful. =(
Biggest Loser Challenge (12/29 - 03/16) - Not successful. =(
Trainer boy challenge #3 (11/11-12/11):
Not successful. =(
(Trainer boy challenge #1 completed 09/11 - down 23.2 pounds - starting weight 239.8) (Trainer boy challenge #2 completed 11/11 - down 23.4 pounds - starting weight 216.6)

Losing 44lbs is awesome! Pat yourself on the back and then scream out yay!!

Going to Walmart was a great thing to do, that's a great way to measure your success. Imagine having to again carry around those 2 bags plus a couple more loose potatoes? No way!!!

Losing weight takes a long time, even though gaining it seems to happen overnight!

Keep your chin up, you have made great progress! We are here for you.

From my perspective, it's not that you've lost "only" 44 lbs in 13 months, it's that you've maintained a loss for over a year! And you've continued to add to that loss.

That's a lot more than I've ever been able to do and I think you should be very proud of that accomplishment.

And yeah, 2- 20 lb bags of potatoes really does bring home exactly how much you have lost, doesn't it? Think about not just walking around with those bags, but carrying them up and down the steps all day, etc. Wow!
Restart 1/6/13 - GOAL (for now) back to prior low

I just want to "ditto" what everyone else has said.

Life style change started on Jan 13, 2011. I was going to lose 100 pounds by Christmas.
I lost 93 pounds by Oct 1, 2011 and am holding there for now. We'll see what happens.
New goal: To maintain at about 160 Final Goal: To decide if I need to lose more
