*******An attitude of gratitude - Month of January 2013********
No matter what is happening in our lives... good things or not so good things - there are always things for which we can be grateful. Knowing this helps put life in perspective. It feels so good to acknowledge gratitudes. Studies show that doing this makes you feel good -and, also, you'll have a more positive outlook.
Fun last night. Dinner out with our cousins. After, We went to two neighbor's homes for New Year's Eve. The final one was with all the kids. I brought a craft for them to do... they made some shaking/shaker noisemakers. They enjoyed it. We did the count down. The kids wore Happy New Year hats. It was fun and joyful.

2012 was one of the worst years of my life. I was trying to conceive my first baby and instead was diagnosed with endometrial cancer and told I might never have my own baby. While I am grateful they found the cancer by accident as I never had any symptoms, it was devestating. I am on medication to try and combat the cancer long enough to conceive (my body will protect me with hormones from the cancer if I do in fact get pregnant).
Last night at 11:59pm I tossed all my worries and family drama and emotional baggage in the proverbial flames and left it all in 2012.
2013 is going to be my year, for weightloss, cancer fighting and hopefully a baby to celebrate next New Year's Eve with! I am so very grateful for this site and the people I have met and been supported by in my goals, my NSVs and everyday life/weight support. I couldn't have succeeded without you all.
I wish everyone good health and many blessings for 2013!!
On New Year's eve got the news that my hubby's medical coverage will offically kick in in a few days. He'll be fitted with a heart monitor for about 2 weeks & then a pacemaker will be inserted to make sure his heart beats properly.
My goal is to let go of all the garbage that drug me down in '12. The hurts, the slights & "injustices". I'm stronger than that! I'm not going to let little things eat me up, life is too short!
I've got a great man who loves me as I am. I want us to have many, many more years together. I'm going to do what is necessary to see that happen!!!
To elvislover324 Sorry that '12 was so rough. I could not imagine. May we both have an AWESOME 2013! Onward & upward! Let's rock 2012!!! PS: My mom loves Elvis, too!!! She even had a hound named Elvis!
2013 has started on a good note!
* dr appt went amazingly well yesterday!
* back on track from the holiday season- so greatful!
* talked to a dear friend on phone yesterday for an hour, its been way to long since our last talk!
* heres to LUCKY number "13" for us all!
Mrstryingagain: Thank you for the hugs, I need all that I can get! So happy about your insurance and that your husband can get that heart monitor, I wish you many many more happy years together. (And my dog's name is Elvis, I don't love the "real" Elvis lololol. We rescued my dog from going to the pound just over 2 years ago and it turns out that he really rescued us. Changed our life so much and he's such a cutie pie. He brings joy to my life every single day!)
Beverylyjoy-Thank you for starting this thread and for your well wishes. I hope your back is feeling better and that 2013 brings you all that you hope for.
I have so much to be thankful for and this thread brightened my outlook. It's so easy to get stuck on the negative but 2013 is going to be so positive for me, I just know it!!
I see so many people talking about what a terrible 2012 they had. I really hope 2013 brings only GOOD for those people. You all deserve it! I'm going to stray from the "norm" and talk about what GOOD year I had!! This year, our beautiful daughter turned three...we celebrated three AMAZING years with the best thing that ever happened to us. Also this year, I got my dream...a beautiful, old farmhouse on seven acres, a barn, and SEVEN (that's right) horses - as well as meat and egg chickens, meat rabbits, dogs, cats. This spring, we intend to add a cow and calf. We have amazing room mates, I'm still not sure how we found the perfect people to share our home with us.
On top of that, the move an hour north to Dayton made it possible for Ben to get an amazing job, a huge raise, and something to do that he truly enjoys. That's not to say that life is perfect, it is FAR from it, but I don't want to get bogged down in the bad...but remember how extremely LUCKY we are to be where we are...with each other...and our amazing friends (old and NEW!) and family!! HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone!!
Too often, the people I see posting about what a horrible year they had are the SAME people that post that EVERY year. It makes me sad, and I wish for happiness for everyone!
* i'll agree 2012 was very educational for me, i learned alot about myself that has/will benefit my future.
* the new year has def been going in the right direction so far.
* this thread is wonderful and inspiring as well as 3FC itself.
