I don't have any experience with suppressants, but I can tell you this...for many people restricting calories is its own suppressant.
After some time, two or three weeks maybe, many people find they simply aren't hungry for the amount of food they used to eat. I personally find this especially true with sweets - the more I eat, the more I want. If I restrict them, I'm much less hungry for them. The hardest part is just getting to that point initially.
