Definitely for both!! I've been here for MANY years, and never needed another forum on 3FC.

Hello everyone, this is my first time on here.....I recently started dieting and I lost 4 lbs. the first week but I have a LONG way to go and I could use all the help I can get. I lost 70 lbs a year ago and gained every bit of it back because of stress with a family situation and I just can't seem to get back on track . I use to do 5 miles on the treadmill every day and also did Zumba or wii fit .....I felt soooo much better and I just don't understand why I can't make myself do it again???

It's hard, for me getting started was really the hardest part. It actually took many years of losing & gaining on various programs for me to really be mentally ready... and even then it was hard to muster up the power. Once I got a little momentum, then I was able to push myself every day.
4lbs. is really great!! Definitely worth celebrating! I'd say you already have a good start! And you can even think about how much better that 4lbs. feels that anything you passed up eating would have tasted. Those foods are long gone, but that 4lb. change is part of you, and you're healthier for it!
Start slow with exercise while you're getting back into it. When I started working out again, I did only 10 minutes on a treadmill for the first few days, and my overall lifestyle wasn't inactive or anything (I'm a mom of 2 kids so I'm always in motion anyway). The next two visits I went up to 15 mins, then I was able to push myself to 30 and then adding weight lifting, then classes... It was gradual! Those first visits I actually did a little treadmill time, then went down to the gym cafe, checked things out, went in the steam room.
Just start slow, once your body remembers that it likes to exercise you'll be able to build back up to where you were before!~

Good to know I'm at least not alone in my 100lb struggle. What a great support network.

Definitely for both! I am a part of it because my goal is to lose 100 lbs, and I hope one day to be a part of the group who has lost 100 lbs to help motivate and give support to others!

Definitely what Pink Hurricane said. With the added bonus of supporting my maintenance when I get there!

I'm here because I wanted to lose "around" 100 lbs. when I started out at 243 lbs. I set my goal at 150, but that's not a certainty...it might need to be more. so, 100 lbs is close to what I needed.
And i have really appreciated all the support here and hope I am/will be paying it forward.

I love the 100lb club....I haven't posted much in a long time but I read all the time, it helped me so much while I was losing and now in maintenance it helps a lot too.
