Default What's your most frequent excuse for skipping workouts?

1. I don't have enough time.

2. I'm too exhausted to work up a sweat.

3. I have a health condition that holds me back.

4. I just don't like to work out!

5. Skip workouts? Me? Never.

6. Something else (Please explain)

Other: I've recently started p90x, and I find that some workouts are so intense that I can't move parts of my body for one or two days afterwards. When that happens, exercise gets skipped.

My main reason is "I am feeling lazy/tired today" and don't bother. But I give myself rest days and I see them almost as a reward to work out knowing I'll have a planned rest day coming up so I don't tend to skip workouts.

I have to laugh when I remember this one when I was first committing to exercise - "no parking spaces available at the gym. I tried, so I can count it as an exercise session"

I laughed the other day when a lady in another thread said that she used the excuse that she had to change her shoes ... becuz I've done the same thing; but now I have a remedy for that -- I put my walking shoes on as soon as I get up now.

1) I have to change my shoes
2) I have to change my clothes
3) it's too cold, hot, wet, or whatever ...
4) I'm too sore
5) I'm too tired
6) I might fall or collapse
7) somebody might see me
8) somebody might mock me
9) I don't feel like it
10) I don't wanna ...

All those used to go through my head; but I have a response to them now ...

1) put them on first thing
2) same: wear something comfortable right away
3) put on a sweater, jacket, take an umbrella, walk indoors, whatever ...
4) do something light: toning, etc
5) do something for only 5 minutes x 3
6) don't go so far; plan ahead
7) go after dark or do indoors
8) people don't care anymore & are too busy
9) too bad -- do it anyways!
10) you will be proud of yourself!

Back pain! Typically it gets better after I work out, but during the workout it's so easy to tell myself to stop.

My excuse? I'm exhausted from caring for my other children during pregnancy, and it is wiser to get rest when I can than burn myself out and pay for it with illness.

I didn't miss many workouts before this pregnancy, except when it was literally too busy to fit one in. Now, though, I'm finding it much harder, since peeling myself off the couch in the afternoon is very difficult and I'm waking up later and still tired, no matter how much sleep I'm getting.
