Default June 1st: 10 Days of Real Food Pledge

I've been obsessed with this blog lately:

Basically it's about a family who cut processed foods out of their diets for 100 days (and they have done several 100 day challenges including on a strict budget, etc). To be clear, it's not a diet blog.

I've always been very good at eating "real food." I shop at the famers market. I eat a lot of veggies. But I also have loads of crap in my house. Crackers from parties that end up in my mouth when I am rummaging through the pantry. Cookies that The Cute Boyfriend buys and then doesn't eat. Leftover naan. And then, with a new baby, it's really easy for me to just grab food (not fast food per se, but take out).

So I am going to take the ten day pledge starting June 1st.

The blog recommends you spend some time cleaning out your pantry, etc to prepare for the pledge. For me, the hardest part is planning. That's exactly what I am going to do.

Thanks for the link. I may not do the pledge but I love sites like this - I'm just not patient enough to weed thru the tons of google results when I search for them. I'll be reading over this holiday weekend.

I'm on day one and MAN, do I miss Coke Zero. It is only 10AM here but by this time, I would have had at least 32 ounces of it. SIGH.

On the good side, I have a fabulous lunch of Malai Sak planned (indian spinach) with a hard boiled egg. And I've already had some blueberries, grapefruit and yogurt.

My Cute Boyfriend is planning on making tomato sauce tonight for whole wheat pasta and a ton of veggies.
