Hang in there, sizes are silly, I have 26's to 20's in my closet. It really just depends on how they are made and our bodies are all different in different places. Wear what feels good and ignore the tags.

You will never make sense of sizes. I am in 12's now - once in a while I'll find a 10 that fits. And there are a dozen times I've come across posts where the stats are close to mine and they say they are in 6's or 8's. I realize I'm older and don't wear my jeans the way I did in my teens and 20's (you know - where you have to jump yourself into them and then lay on the bed to zip them) but I can't even imagine trying to get into an 8. SIZES ARE NOT THE SAME from store to store.

My stats are about the same as yours. I assume you're younger. Your goal is where I am right now. You CAN do this. You can get to whatever weight you want. Yes, it takes a while. Yes, it's a bit of work. But it's so much easier than you might imagine when you get your head into it. Trust me. Just take it one choice at a time. No going back - no regrets. Every day (every meal) on plan is a victory. Be proud of what you're doing. Success comes in small steps, day after day. This is forever, you know. And it's doable.

TOTALLY IGNORE THE CLOTHING RACK.

seriously. just mentally cut the part of the label off that has the size.

there is no industry standard for clothing sizes. they did a thing on jeans some years back - they took size 10s from something like 5 major brands. the waist on the size "10" ranged from a low of 28" (!??) to a high of 32!

i'm 215lbs - i have a pair of size 16 jeans that are loose and sag so bad i've got "droopy diaper" butt and i have a pair of size 14s that i can't pull up past my thighs!

don't forget that when it comes to sizes, the clothing is what some fashionista's idea of a size 10 is. there are (seriously!) major fashion houses where if you are higher than a 12, they won't even deal with you because they don't want their clothing to be seen in public on a less-than-fabulous body.

trust your tape measure - *it*, at least, will never lie to you.
