It's official! I have lost over 100 lbs!!
Woo Hoo!!!
After years and years of maintaining the 100 lbs lost thread, I finally got to add my name to the list. What a rush! And today is my 1 year anniversary of my new lifestyle. I started with 17 lbs lost, so I lost 83 lbs in that year, but 100 from my highest in July 2010.
I have been here for over 10 years and have never had any real success. What I would lose, I would gain right back. So for anyone who feels like they will just never make it, have some faith in yourself and don't ever give up. What I finally did was examine my program to see what the problem was, how come it didn't work? What I realized was that my plan worked fine, I just never stuck to it. A week here, a few weeks there, then I'd cheat and that would snowball and I would gain it all back. So a year ago today I decided that I would do the one thing that I had never done, stick to my plan every stinking day. I saw that a lot of people were having success making 1 year commitments, so that's what I did. My plan was nothing major, 1800 calories. That's it. In the beginning, I didn't even care what I ate, the goal was to stick to 1800 EVERY day, if I did that, it was a successful day. And guess what, the weight came off. After a while I started cleaning up what I ate, but not until I was able to easily control those daily calories! Back in October I started working with a personal trainer and now I weight lift and hit the gym 5 days a week, but I didn't start there.
You guys have been with me the whole way, you'll never know how much this forum means to me, saved my life for sure. Goal #2, add my name to the 200 lbs lost and Onederland lists!
