Talking Hi there 100lb club! (=

I know there is a separate board for intros but I think I'll be hanging around here a lot so I thought I'd just jump on in instead of posting an intro somewhere I won't be frequently. I'm coming into this super motivated and ready to get less fat so let me just give you little bit of history.

in 2005 i lost about 45lbs! kept it off for two years no problem. 2007 was the worst year of my life.. bad bad bad. i was in an accident (some dillweed feel asleep, hit me head on) and shattered my ankle. but i was still at my normal weight and doing OK. couldnt exercise and stuff, though. a month later my dad was diagnosed with male breast cancer and i didnt give a flying you know what. i ate myself sick, fell into depression. when he got better (hes fine now, yay!) i stopped eating so much, but that weight has never left me. my ankle still limits what I can do physically.

so ive done it before, and i can do it again. the first time i lost the weight i was on this forum so it feels nice to be back! i started at 273, lost 9lbs already - so im at 264 now. my goal is 190. I am also 6 feet tall with a large build, so 190 a good goal weight for me.

i cant wait to get to know you guys and help you along the way!

WELCOME! I am not in this forum often, but I belong here because I have over a 100lbs to lose.
It's great that your dad is doing better and that you survived the crash (even tho your ankle isnt 100%).
Motivation is a big part of this jourrney and I hope you keep it. Congrats on the 9lbs, thats AWESOME!!
Keep going!

I love the user name!! Too cute! Is it a pet's name?

We have a regainers thread going if you care to take a gander. There are several of us aboard right now experiencing the slightly unique troubles of losing it AGAIN!

Welcome! I'm glad to hear your dad is doing well and that you have recovered, too. This particular group is very active, so I know you'll get the support you (we) need. Glad you joined us.

I've only been here a couple weeks, but it has been great. I hit an emotional wall in the last two days and having this group helped me realize I'm not going to give up like I usually do after 3 weeks of trying. I'm in it for the long haul Hope to see you around the threads!

I had a trauma year about 5.5 years ago. I'd struggled with my weight off and on but a series of events sent me off the deep end. This is such a wonderful place, so much support and guidance and encouragement! Welcome and looking forward to your own successes!

Welcome to the group! I'm sorry to hear about your dad and your accident, it is wonderful that you are both recovered now but those sorts of events can definitely precipitate weight gain! Good for you for working it off and coming here for support
