Default Back after a long absence...

I've been avoiding this site for about 8 months now....weight loss was going reasonably well, and I was feeling better about myself. The compliments were rolling in, and then I hit a major wall and fell on my face. Now I've regained a significant portion of the loss, but I feel ready to start again, and I'm glad to be back here

I've moved around a bit - left the Bay Area in California and came to Washington, DC. I've had a blast exploring the area (and the food), and I've got about 3 more months here before I move on. I'm staying in a kind of women's dorm, with breakfast and dinner included...and NO kitchen available. If it can't be prepared in a microwave, it's not on my menu

I've gotten back in to exercising at least 3-4 days a week, in addition to doing lots of walking, and I've managed to find a healthy balance given my VERY limited options (especially because money is also an issue). Hopefully, the weight will start coming off again, but I'm trying to stay off the scale for a bit. I tend to become a scale addict and focus way too much on the numbers instead of how I'm feeling.

In March, I'm going to be heading out to Western Australia (and possibly trying to move there in the future depending on how I like it). I'm super excited but also apprehensive about meeting lots of new people.

Happy to be back

I came back after 3 years absence, so kudos for coming back quicker! I visited Australia when I was a teen and they'd wear parkas when I'd be burning up. Whoo! You can do this!

Welcome back and kudos on making healthy changes in your life despite the no-kitchen challenge! Whenever I hear about people doing this in less than perfect circumstances, I am in awe...I have a hard enough time as it is.

I look forward to seeing you around the forums.

Welcome back and good luck! I'd be sunk if I couldn't do my own cooking.
