Mj - I hate when you lose a long post!!!
I am nursing some bad back pain. I am trying to make some good choices. This has been a tough 18 months for me, healthwise. I feel embarrassed to say that once again, something is wrong. I will carry on.
Enjoy your weekend. Plan, plan and plan some more.

Hi everyone!
Beverlyjoy--Oh no!!! Hope your back feels better soon!!! Keep at it, one day at a time!
lottie--YEA!!! So glad to hear that your pain is almost non existant! I am going to a yoga class tomorrow. It's a free class offered at the same school where I take kickboxing. I was going to do my strength training, but my knee is pretty sore, so I thought I would check out the class so I would at least be doing something. I thought of you today!!! I received my new nutritional plan from my trainer and guess what it includes??? Seitan! I am excited to try it (I will make tacos with it with lots of yummy spices). My trainer is vegetarian and he and I chatted about me wanting to make the transition. He is very excited to help me do this.

mj: awesome! I like tvp (like fake ground beef, but not the crumbles you buy in the freezer section, the dehydrated stuff you get from bob's red mill, not full of chemicals that way.) for tacos, and sometimes tofu, there is a great tofu taco recipe (asian inspired bbq tofu tacos) on my blog here:
http://beyondwillpower.blogspot.com/...-bbq-tofu.html
seitan is good in place of things like chicken or beef strips. I recommend making your own, the store bought stuff is very bland.
I miss it, my bf still eats it, but since I"m gluten free it just can't happen. sigh.

lottie--Thanks! I did buy the store bought kind, but the recipe from my trainer called for LOTS of spices (luckily things we already had). They were really good! Even my hubby tried, and liked the tacos. I am soooo proud of him!!! I'm goint to check out your recipe now, thanks!

Hello All,
I think I may have posted my calorie counting efforts in a similar thread before and would like to try to do that again for December. Last month I tried to focus on getting to the gym as a regular habit and between zumba, pilates and TRX classes that worked pretty well, used up all occasions from my gym pass about two weeks before it was due, actually for the first time ever. Yay!
Currently I am recovering from a cold, heading for a conference and holiday trips later in the month, so have thought that I will make December's focus calorie counting, so that I do not get carried away during the holiday season plus I think I could really use some conscious eating control again in my life. My goal will be to stay below 1500 kcal per day and see how that goes.
December:
5: 1689 kcal
6: 1576 kcal
7-14: lazy me
15: 928 kcal
16: 1383 kcal
17: unsure, in the range of 2000-2500 kcal
18: 1323 kcal
19: 1370 kcal
20: 1349 kcal
I wish you the best of success in your own efforts!

I'm behind again...
Sat Dec 3
B= 2 c milk, vits
L- 1/2 OV Chicken Rusitca Sand {leftover}
L= 1/2 Commisary 1/2 sand, 1/2 beans, few fries
D= Stew, dressing, 2 RR squares
E=none
Right - splitting sandwich with Hubby
Wrong- not resisiting the temptation of Hubby's fries
Regret= spent too much time sitting at computer
~~~~~~~~
Sun Dec 4
B=4 c milk, vits, poptart
L= Jason's Deli Polla Mexicana spud, extra light ranch
D=stew, dressing, peas and carrots, cornbread
S= 2 Resses PBC
E= 46min treadmill {listening to new mp3}
Right= only 1 poptart, shared last bites of spud with Hubby so I wouldn't be too full, managed to save files off old mp3
Wrong= more sitting
Regret=
I bought myself a new mp3 player, Phillips Vibe 8G. Its not much smaller than the old dead one, has a readable screen, and Hubby can put all our music, my Cardio Coaches, etc without my having to mess with it too much; that feature alone was worth an extra $20 for the extra 4G.
My backside/ribs are better but some stablizer muscles and a deep glute are still sore from Tuesday's fall.
Lizz, welcome, glad to have you join us. I hope your cold isn't that bad.
Beverly, hope your back is better soon.
Lottie, I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.
MJ, I've been having more trouble getting on Chicks/computer freezing also.
Lottie--I have been looking online re: making seitan. Is it really that easy to make? Would you be willing to share how you used to make yours? The kind I bought was ok, but seemed to have a lot of sodium...or I am just extra sensitive to sodium (which I already know I am). Also...what do you recommend for seasoning it with when you make it?
Thank you!!!
Lizz--Welcome! Hope you start feeling better!
patchworkpenguin--congrats on the new mp3 player!
lottie--I hope you do get to do something fun for your bday.
Ugh...I am sooooo hungry! I have had to be on clear liquids all day...I've never had to do that before surgery before and let me tell you...it stinks! Obviously, there are much worse things to go through, but I'm hungry. I'm having some tea now. I can't wait to get the surgery over with. I'll check in as soon as I can...at least to let you know it's over and i'm fine
