It's been twenty days since I first dipped down to 202, and have averaged 1536 daily calories. I've been very physically active until last Friday (when I took a tumble... ouch!)

Diana: My sister has strong food sensitivities, also. A small bite of some "mystery" substance can make her bloat like a balloon for a few days afterward. It's so frustrating when the prevailing food culture is so hostile! Perhaps you can call ahead to a few restaurants to see if they make accomodations to your sensitivities? That's pretty common in my parts of the Denver area (but that's a pretty big metro area).

Well I guess taking half a week off working out helped me drop some more weight once I did start again.

Angie The weather down here in Mississippi, is very mild compared to where you are from. Most of the time we probably stay between a low of 25 and a high of 45-50 during the winter months. I will have to run in the cold this winter, and would have this past week, but it has been rainy down here as well. I can do cold, just not cold and wet!

3 days to my half marathon!

No WI this morning, bit of a mad dash to get out the door since my alarm didn't go off. Thank goodness Jack woke up!!

Grandpa is doing well, has had a couple of good days which we are thank ful for. My mom being (an RN of 37 years) has spoken to colleagues of hers and begun the process to have him accessed for a nursing home. It was a hard thing for her to do, but she knows he needs care we just can't give him anymore.
Thank you all for your words very appreciated.

Back to work I go, more christmas shananigans to be had and I'm happy to say I did NOT eat any nanaimo bars (they have always been the 'dessert' i love despite the chocolate, but i dont eat that anyway )

Looking forward to a quiet night in making soup with Jack and moving on to my chapter on Anatomy.

How exciting my life is ha ha

Salley I posted this at my other check-in. The crazy thing is that I have tested negative for everything. Every time I consume what I think I am allergic to, I will have a reaction. Restaurants have been very helpful to me. Since Thanksgiving, my food has been within my calorie range except for Thanksgiving. It's crazy!

I have been doing pretty well with the allergy since I have been avoiding, peanuts, all legumes (including soy), tree nuts, and coconut. If I think about it, it seems like I have a "perfect storm" situation going on. It started on Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving - Higher calories, carbs, sodium
Sunday after Thanksgiving - calories were fine, but I had some pretzels, which were high sodium and high carb
Last Wednesday Japanese restaurant -Food was made with soy sauce (allergen), high sodium, high carb, calories were OK
Last Friday - Olive Garden - High sodium
Last night - High sodium

I always have a small reaction from the soy sauce at the Japanese restaurant. I normally recover quicker. I think all of these events have been building and compounding on top of each other. I took an antihistimine this morning. We'll see how it goes.

Crainjo Congrats on the 2 pounds!

AKA This always seems to happen. Don't worry about it. You will be back down in no time.

Coondocks I'm glad your Grandpa has had a couple good days.

Down 2.2 to 206 today -- I'm over on calories, sodium and carbs today, and definitely did not drink enough water....dreading the morning.

Calories 1775
Sodium 2,508
Carbohydrate 152.2
Fiber 28
Protein 91.7

Diana -- I honestly don't know how I pulled off that little gain. I ate big breakfasts, with lots of carbs (which I never do) -- there were many 'off limits' foods at lunches (nachos, hotdogs, pizza) and dinner was not so bad, but I always had dessert. The only thing I can think of to explain the small gain is that I was more active than usual, but I really didn't go out of my way to exercise, it was more just walking around the ship or the ports and swimming. Maybe what is overboard for me now is not as much as it used to be -- in theory I could eat an extra 1000 calories a day and maintain my weight, so I guess I only went a little over that. Sadly no dancing -- there weren't that many opportunities, I had imagined a lot more dancing, but it was only in the nightclubs and very late. Normally I had Cameron back by that time, and on the times I didn't I opted to see the R rated comedy shows We had two excursions planned, the first was a Pirate Encounter, but it was canceled because the water was too rough to dock in Grand Cayman -- I was sorry to miss it, we were supposed to walk the plank! The 2nd excursion was our Swim with the Dophin one in Cozumel -- it was AMAZING!! We got to touch them, hug them, kiss then and RIDE them...it was the experience of a lifetime. It cost and arm and a leg, but I am trying to focus on experiences moreso than things, so I think it was totally worth it.
Have you taken anything to help things get moving in the bathroom? I keep some metamucil on hand for those occasions and it seems to help...but i take it in the early evening so taht it 'hits' by morning -- there's nothing worse than being in the middle of something with a customer or in a meeting at work when the 'i gotta go' feeling hits!

Kukkie -- Sorry about that gain today...hopefully it will be gone again tomorrow.

ONa - Thanks! I hope giving up nuts helps you to get moving again.

Hello and a probably late to Daimere and Salley!

Crainjo -- Thanks for filling me in on your winter season good job on the 2lbs today!

I'm almost positive that my TOM is near or maybe I was retaining water. I'm also going to cook a big batch of rice and chicken for the future/emergency meals. Yesterday I had a good workout. I'm about to waist hoop while watching this documentary and it just showed what cholesterol looks like in your heart. fsdfjsdkj ick. Just reminds me how important this is since my dad had heart surgery a few years ago.

Good Morning, Everyone!

I am 99.9% sure I am having an allergic reaction. I took the Allegra yesterday. I will continue to take it for a few days. I am aware of the soy sauce at the Japanese restaurant could be a culprit. It never reacts this badly since I have cut out so many other legumes and nuts. I must have consumed an allergen and not aware of it. Saturday I was craving curry. I made curried chicken and cabbage for myself at lunch. I made it very plain and just used some curry powder. None of the ingredients stood out to be a problem for me. It is what it is. Now I just need to get through it. I remember when I was going through this 1 - 1 1/2 years ago. I was eating tons of green beans, fresh sugar snap peas, etc. I would have a major gain overnight and struggle for the next week with a swollen face and lips. Now that I have figured this much out, I seem to be doing a lot better. Still frustrating although it could be so much worse.

Angie I'm sorry that you missed walking the plank. It sounds like you had a great time, though. I think you did a fantastic job with your food and walking. Most of the fiber supplements/drinks contain a legume as their fiber source. Also, I have tried taking other things while this is going on. It seems it just make my stomach hurt really badly. Things won't "release" until the reaction lessens. Stupid body!

Calories for yesterday: 1440 +

Weigh In: 148

Down: .4

Hopefully I will not suffer by not running for a week. Last time I did not run for a week, I had my best time in 5K my next race. Hope this repeats itself.

Morning my wonderful people!

I'm officially convinced that I need a new scale, the one I have now is definitely on something. This morning when I weighed in, it gave me 198.2 and when I sort of sighed and said not again and got back on again to double check, it gave me 199.2. By then I didn't care what it had to tell me, and I'm definitely getting a new scale. I tried to give this one a timeout then even a second chance, but it doesn't want to play nice, so it's got to go!

Hope you all have a fabulous day

everybody..We wil keep food in check

Things are looking good down .6 to 166.0 today lifted weights yesterday, jogged in the cold this morning.feeling sore.Pushing on with a solid mindset.

on the .4 Diana sorry bout the reaction again from reading your list, you just can't pin-point where it came from, but this ain't your first rodeo..you'll get through this just like all the other times hope the Allegra helps.

Great job on the 2.2 Angie thanks i get on the these kicks, like with the nuts and stay for a while then move on to something else I've never really eaten nuts as much as i have been lately I guess since i found the kind in the individual little packs..that i can carry w/me for when i need something to eat quick, that's low in everything would be great but i guess too much of a good thing isn't all that good either. My sister did see Dr Oz say that nuts aren't good for your colon or something so..

I feel ya KuKKie we don't have the time for a crazy scale. you're working too hard for that foolishness

Awesome WI Crainjo

Diamere,waist hooping sounds interesting

Blessings being sent to your GP Coon

No problem Aka,what Diana said. You're totally killing that fat

Have a wonderful day everybody off to the mall w/mother..snacks pack!!! it's so much fun shopping now I can wear things in the junior department

I overslept again, but I think I really needed it. I crashed out last night with my text book on the couch about 10:45 and woke up after 6 this morning, not even close to my regualr routine. I feel fantastic today so obviously I needed it.
Again no WI, but keeping up with my steps, averaging almost 11,000 a day woot woot! Still have a craving for a nanaimo bar though . . . good thing I can only seem to find them when I have debit card only and I'm too cheap to debit $2.00 ha ha.

Diana - I'm always so fascinated by what you deal, i feel awful saying that I hope everything works out for you but I can't help but find it so interesting how different bodies react to different things and in what combinations.

Kukkie - Kick the scale in the butt! I should just send you mine, i'm obviously not using it lol. But, I find it kind of freeing as well, I know i'm not gaining a large amount but that's only cause my smaller pants still fit. I'm starting to like the idea of measuring my success in other ways than the scale. Are you doing well otherwise?

Rennie, Roxy, Aimee - where are you hiding?

Ona - Wow, i missed a lot it seems, you are ROCKING this out!! Such an inspiration . . . . I say Wow again

Angie - Awwww, no plank???? I was looking forward to hearing about walking the plank. Sounds like a good time was had though and that's the important part

Oh wow! I am so far behind here. I hope everyone has been keeping well.

I have been so busy and losing track of my goals, so I am taking a step back from it all and trying to re-focus. I'm still in good shape, I think. Only 5 more pounds to my 2nd mini-goal, but I see how quickly we can let it slip away with work and family and the hoidays.

Here's to everyone staying on track.
