  • Ok, so I have fallen off the bandwagon and need to get back on! I will be headed to Florida in 30 days. My commitment to myself is to stay on track for every on of those days! I plan to post here daily to keep myself focused and accountable! I will weight myself tommorow morning to see what kind of damage I have done.

  • Good luck to you. Stay on track and you'll
definitely feel accomplished going to Florida!

  • Day 1: this morning I weighed 221.8 That is up from my all low of 18.2 back in June. It is not as bad as it could have been but I have wasted two months! The plan for today is to eat no more than 1600 calories and get in some exercise!
  • Thos two months are not wasted! Maintaining is a great place to be, and since my scale can fluctuate 3 or 4 pounds in a day, I would say that what you did looks a lot like maintenance. And now you've got renewed motivation, renewed commitment, and an attainable short-term goal. Sounds kind of awesome to me!
  • Thanks Sophronia for the encouraging words, thats a great way to look at it. Yesterday went great! I stuck to my diet and went on a 8.5 mile bike ride. I will make today as good as yesterday!
  • You've heard the old saying "what a difference a day makes", right? Well, now imagine the power of change that results from 30 days. You will undoubtedly evict some unwanted pounds, you will will be stronger and faster and healthier, and you will be 30 days into making this new mindset a habit. It's like your own personal challenge thread!

    So: GO, kmbRN84, GO!

  • Well, day #2 went very well. I continued to stick with my eating plan and went for a 13.4 mile bike ride. I am feeling great and in control! Thanks Skinny in Oz for the encouragement. I love this board so much!!!
  • Congratulations on committing to get back OP! Good luck!
  • congrats on getting back on track and your first 2 successful days!! 13.4 miles, wow, that's awesome!
  • Well, yesterday went well. I stuck with my diet (even at a Mexican place) and got some exercise done (walked about an hour and 6 mile bike ride). My bottom was a bit sore from the 13 mile ride, lol! Today I work a 12 hour shift and plan to not do exercise on days I work.
  • I am finding motivation from you keep up the good work ! Congrats !
  • I opened your post this morning as I have been Off Plan for almost two weeks and went WOW we have almost the exact same goal. I fell off the bandwagon too and when we went away for the weekend almost two weeks ago I just found these reasons to stretch it one more day. Well 8Lbs up my husband and I decided that since today marked 30 days till our vacation that we were going to go 30 days On Plan. So I am here for you. GOOD LUCK and thank you for the extra Motivation.
  • Great job! Keep up the good work!!
  • Don't feel like the two months off plan have been time wasted. I've been at this seriously for 2 and a half years, and honestly, maybe only 30-40% of that time has been actively on plan. There's been a lot of faffing around and time wasting and yes probably, had I stayed focused I could have been at goal over a year ago.

But the thing is, this is not a race, and goal is not the finish line. I don't get a break when I get to goal, I continue to live life as normal, some days better than others. The real measure of how on-plan you were is the fact that in the two months away, you didn't fall completely off the wagon and regain everything back. I've learned a couple of things in this journey, the most important being a heightened consciousness of what I put into my mouth even on those days I'm "off-plan" and the other being that whilst losing weight and stomping my way to goal is the aim, maintaining and not regaining or gaining any new weight can be a victory in itself. Believe me after 2.5years, I do get bored and give myself plan vacations, where I eat at maintenance levels and the main goal is to practice maintenance and not to gain any weight.

I do understand though because I've recently hiked myself back up by the bootstraps and I'm trying to go for the final push and get rid of those 20-30lbs till goal. So here's to us both! Keep up the good work!!!
  • You all are so motivating! It is nice to hear about others in the same boat. Vacation seems to be one of my downfalls as well...it is easy to find reasons to extend the "celebration".
Testerday went okay...I did go over calories by just under 200 because some Hershy Kisses got the better of me! There are 26 calories in EACH one!!! Today has been great so far.
