Hi everyone!

Just a quick question with regard to the 100 lb. club, but first I want to explain a little. I started my weight loss journey in May at my heighest weight, and it's been really slow going. I have been mostly hanging out in the 20-somethings board, but I sometimes find it discouraging to be a lot heavier than most there. I'm part of a great challenge, but there isn't a 220's/230's thread, for example.

Anyway, just reading some threads here and I already feel like I can relate a lot more. The thing is that while I could, technically, lose 100 lbs, I'm not sure that I want to. My big goal right now is 165, and I just want to get there and then see how I feel about my body. I'm pretty tall, and I remember feeling great at 165 in high school, but hey, you never know!

Bottom line: can I still hang out in the clubhouse?!

Of course you can! I didn't have 100 lbs to lose either when I first started, but I stumbled upon a daily weigh in group in the 100 lb club early on my journey and the gals there are sooo uber supportive that I've been there ever since! C'mon over - whatever will help you along your journey!

Ish - I also hang around the 20-something boards and I agree, it does seem that at times I'm on the heavier end of the spectrum there! I'm not sure what I want my final goal to be (but currently it's 165 just because I never weighed that much since like middle school) and I could lose 100 pounds but the number seems so unmanageable to me that I try not to think of it in such a broad term.

From what I've seen across the site, anyone's welcome anywhere. There's even women who browse (and post) in Men's Corner

ish- PLEASE JOIN US.....

I also hang out in the 20 Somethings occasionally and I am almost sure that I am at the top percentage of weight at 290. I actually found the 100lb club first and even though I do have 100lbs to lose I find it easier to relate to most of the 100lb club over the 20 somethings.

DCChick- Well at least I am not the only one that is way over everyone else. I am doing the end of the year challenge in the 20 somethings and I am the only one who's goal isn't under 200.

Michi702- WE HAVE THE SAME GOAL WEIGHT

I guess it comes down to hanging out wherever you feel most comfortable at because let me tell you the support here and being able to simply vent is one of my most valuable tools in the journey. I think that maybe if I had done this the last time I dropped more than 20lbs I might have kept going. Plus to be honest no disrespect to the 20 somethings forum but I find that I get a more rounded set of advice from people here since a lot of them have been through this before and conquered it. Experience is abundant around here.

Of course you can!

You do not HAVE to lose 100lbs in order to join the club ^^ It was just made to encourage those who had more to lose. To let us all know that we aren't alone.

I'm a 20-something, too, but I know what you mean. Sure, sometimes I'll read the area, but I can't always help the person looking to lose the Freshman 15 as much as I can relate to the people aiming to take off... well... 100 or more pounds! Nothing wrong with it! =)

Dive on in wherever you're comfortable!

ish - glad you are joining us!

My goal is to lose 100lbs, but once I get into the 140s I may reevaluate and decide to stay there.

I'm a relatively new member here in the 100 pound club, but I say, "The more the merrier!" I, too, plan to reevaluate my goal when I'm closer, but I think 152 is a good weight for me, so I'm in here for the long haul.

I used to think that 100 pounds seemed impossible, but have lost 65 since January 13th. Now I'm just on a 35 pound diet! That seems very manageable! Reading posts in here helps me stay motivated. Others have lost 100 pounds in way less than a year. That is fantastic, and I now I think I can, too.

If you want a 220 - 230 thread, just start one! The "10 pound" threads seem so popular. I'm sure it's because everyone is in them for such a short period of time. A big goal broken down into lots of small ones seems so much easier.

Glad you're here.

Edited to say there is a 230 pound thread. Very motivational.

Lin

I had the impression that it was for people looking to lose 100 lbs, but also for anyone over 200 who is trying to get down into the 100s a/k/a Onederland!

So yeah, the more the merrier. Does anyone need LESS support to try to lose weight?? lol!

Talking

I may be biased but this is like the best club... I also am a 20-something but I really love this forum and I love the support and commodore here-- though I look around everywhere and join other chats where I am not in the "club" at times... Like weight loss surgery the other day- which I've never had... lol. I think most everyone part of the 3FC community are so amazing and friendly that it doesn't matter. And really, we are all here for the same reason, aren't we? But in my opinion it does really help to be talking with people who are where you are at or have been where you are at... My friend who has like 30lbs to lose and still wants to eat Chipolte -- it's like you know how far I got to go?? It really helps to have others in the same boat (that we hopefully will get out of soon ). I am also pretty new here myself but I say welcome to the club!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, everyone!

I've been really struggling with getting the forward motion I need with my weight loss. I really need all the support I can get, and from people who've been this weight. Also, giving support supports me too.

Thanks again, everyone.
