Default Body Bugg?

I can wear my Polar HR monitor in the pool. I've been considering getting a Body Bugg but I can't find anything on the Body Bugg site that tells me if I can do that. Any ideas?

I know a few people on the board have it and love it. Anyone find some limitations? Are you using the version that you use with your phone? Is that to calculate calorie intake?

I have been using my Body Bugg for over a year and I love it. That said, it does have some limitations. It's not waterproof, so wearing it in the pool is a big no-no. Also, when doing exercise that isolates the lower body and keeps the upper body pretty still (such as cycling) it's not terribly accurate. I have the version 3 (not compatible with my phone) and the optional digital display to monitor how I'm doing throughout the day. The newer version utilizes one's phone to do this. I can track my food on the computer or my phone through their site.

I wore one for three months. In my opinion what they're best for is demonstrating the effectiveness of NEAT and how small movements over the course of a day can add up to big numbers.

I have been wearing a bugg for most of the time I have been losing weight. It has been awesome. Mine is about to give out and I don't think I am going to get another, but I have learned a lot about myself from wearing it and I would definitely do it again.

Don't wear it in the pool or shower though. I think that's part of why mine is giving out, there have been about 5-10 times I have jumped in the shower and forgotten to take it off.

audri - I switch mine to just below my knee on my left leg with the bugg in the back when I bike. I get pretty accurate data that way. I got the tip from some veteran buggers when I first started.

I have the Body Media (gowear fit). It was cheaper and I think it does the same thing. I wish I could wear it in the water, but can't. I love it, have been wearing mine for about 7 months. It helps to keep me in check with how much I am burning and what I am eating since I log my foods on to it. I don't notice it on my arm anymore and have jumped in the shower with it, but once the water hits my arm I remember to take it off.

I have the app for mine on my Ipod touch, they came out with a Bluetooth version right after I got mine and that will sync with the phone. I just have to plug mine into the computer and then it will sync with the app. I can log foods anytime though.
