Last summer I got a whole group of friends to commit to the C25K program and a fun 5k at the .end of the program with me. They all did great!!! Me, not so much. Lol. But I do.finished it, it was just a lot more walking the running hahaha. I actually think I'm going to sign up for the same run this summer just to redeem myself

Go for it!! Having an established goal like that is normally encouraging!

In a word? YES! Sign up. Give yourself a goal. Don't worry about running the whole thing, just sign up and go for it. I did that last November, and now I can't stop running. I just ran a half marathon this past Saturday and I couldn't even run for a full minute a year ago.

Best wishes! You can do it!

I agree! Definitely sign up & do it. Even if you end up walking some, it's still a great accomplishment. Plus, it'll give you a good time to try and beat for the NEXT 5k you sign up for! Best of luck!!!

YES! DO IT!! I did my first 5k last April. It was so much fun I have don't half a dozen more since then... I am not sure what to do with all these 'free' T-Shirts. Lol! They are fun! Even if you walk more than you run - it just FEELS SO GOOD to get out there and DO IT!

My profile picture on FB says: "no matter how slow you go, you are still lapping everyone on the couch"

I want to sign up too. I am only on week 2 of the C25K program but I can run 15 minutes straight on the treadmill. I should look for one like 2 months from now and sign up.

go for it.

I also recommend the couch to 5K program. For me personally having a weekly workout plan and a specific date I'm training for helps me to not skip/skimp on workouts. Its amazing how much doing a 5k motivates me.
