I know that 2003 sounds so far away, but you know it's only about a month? I KNOW! Time flies when there are goals to meet.... Anyone else interested in setting a New Year's goal next? Peace. -Apryl
Well, Apryl I dont know if I have the strength to try another goal.
I set a Halloween goal and didnt make it. Set a goal for Thanksgiving and didnt make it either. I lose a few then gain them back. Flip flopping along and not making any new progress, really! I have gotten to this 60 pound wall and cant seem to make myself get over it! I had the same problem at 40 too. I got to forty and stayed there forever until I was ready to really try again.
But to give it a try I will say 243 is my goal (70). Right now I am at 250. I know 7 pounds in a month is probably too high but I am gonna try anyway!!
Congrats to those who made their turkey day goals!

I'm not really sure what to make my goal. I started at 256 on 11/1. I got down to 246 as of this past Monday, but since it's my TOM, I'm not sure what my real weight is.
My major downfall with trying to lose weight is my sweet tooth, and this time of year is a killer for me.
I guess I'll set my goal at 239. I just want to be in a lower "ten" pound range by New Year's.
But being realistic, I'd be thrilled just not to gain anything and maintain!
Laura, I can relate to missing those goals! I keep jumping around the same 5 pounds. I wonder if it might do us well to make a different type of goal - for instance, setting an exercise goal for December ... or a water goal ... or an eating goal ... Maybe even stay off the scale until January! (that's one I'm considering!)
Well, in my heart, I'd like to be at 284. That's where I was Jan 1st last year. I'm at 293 right now. a 9 lb loss the month of December. Hmmmm. not likely, but that's what I'm hoping for.

I am so glad someone can relate! I love the idea of staying off the scale-if only I could! I swear, when I am trying to lose I am obssesed with checking in every day. Seriously I will try the eating goal to stay around 1400 calories a day, maybe 1800 if I have to go to a party. I can lose at 2000 since I weigh so much so lets see how 1400-1800 does. I really want to see the scale go down and stay there not back and forth, back and forth the same few pounds over and over again!!
happy holidays!!
