Red face 40 Lbs Down 90 More to Go.

Today I'm 40 Lbs Down and have 90 More to Go. I have had some setbacks but feel like this year I can reach my Goal Weight of 132. I don't always stick to my plan like I should. So not sure if I can lose 90 Lbs by December 31st. Can you lose 90 Lbs in 9 1/2 months?

You can but 10lbs a month, every month, is a huge ask.

Personally, I would aim for a lower amount - maybe another 40 - but work very hard, and it could be more. That way if (sorry, WHEN) you reach or surpass 40, you'll feel so victorious. If you aim for 90 and make even 'only' 80, or even 89, you'll feel cheated.

Either that or not have a fixed figure, that can get really pressurizing in a bad way, but celebrate, say, every 10lbs in a big way, and just see how many celebrations you can get in, rather than specify a number.

Oh, and congratulations on the 40!!!!!

Yes you can - I did 100 in 9 months Rosinante is right, it's a huge ask, but it can be done in a healthy way.

You can but will you feel like a failure if you lose 60 or 70 pounds instead of 90? Time related goals get me every time. I get discouraged and, at times, have just given up. The problem wasn't that I was not succeeding but I was not succeeding fast enough. I encourage you to set small goals and celebrate each one of them.

You've done so well! Congratulations! You are rolling and can keep moving forward. With each bit you lose, you gain your health! Your overall goal is very ambitious. I agree that it is important to celebrate the smaller mini-goals along the way. By the end of the year, you'll have accomplished so much to be proud of.

I say work at your best capacity and if at the end of the year you've lost another 40 lbs., do a cartwheel!!! I'd hate for you to have your eye solely on the number 90 and be disappointed with 75, you know??

If at the end of the year someone is down 5 lbs i say it's a victory! ! DOWN and LESS is awesome
