  • I could never wear tampons before. I could FEEL them. None of my thin friends could but my bigger friends could, today was the first time I've tried one since my high weight and I realized I COULD REACH proper. (ick) but still, it just wasn't workin' out before.

Is this definitely a weight thing? I can still feel it the tiniest bit, but before it was downright painful and felt like it was in sideways.

ha. I'm kind of excited about this development. heh..
  • hmmm... not sure about the "feeling" it part, it has never bothered me before... but I can totally relate to the "reaching" it part lol... thank God it is much easier now...yay!
  • Hmm, now I wonder. I gave up tampon wearing for many years because uncomfortable and blamed it on changing hormones. But I use them now and hadn't really thought about why they're ok again.
  • I have never been able to use them too! All my friends stopped asking for one from me (My purse is like this magical thing where you can find almost anything inside), because I'm the only one who doesn't use them. I'm the only very heavy one too. This might be a thing!

This gets added to my list of things to try when I'm thin. (Even if that's a little weird!)
  • Maybe you were smaller in the va-jay-jay when you were younger. With time the muscles relax and maybe you are more comfortable and less dry this time around. Could be several factors! But enjoy the mess free periods! LOL.

Hmmm, definitely not this. It definitely felt like it was in sideways, which I can only imagine was from not being able to reach around proper, but not only that I felt my abdomen weight pushing down on it. This was only a year or so ago as well. I haven't had kids and don't get much action :P
  • Wow, I've never been able to use tampons either and never thought it could be related to weight. I'll have to try again when I'm thinner too!
  • I can say for me it was really hard to insert them proper when I was 300lbs. I had a few do-overs lol If you're still feeling it, you might need to get it in a little bit deeper. (I don't have a classy way of saying that, sorry lol) Also if you're feeling it, it's possible you're wearing a too high absorption tampon. If you're down to a lighter day, and using a super tampon, that can be really irritating
  • I used tampons since my second period at 13 years old....up to my high weight and at every weight in between.

I had more trouble with tampons with applicators at my high weight, but I always just bought OB tampons with applicators. I really would cry if I had to use pads....they make me feel really dirty.
  • i second the idea that if you can feel it you probably aren't able to "reach" well enough. Get it up in there good! And i can see how if you are too fat you would have reaching issues. i can't remember experiencing this but i didn't wear tampons for the longest time. -fm
  • hmm interesting theory. But I could feel them when I was skinny too
  • They've always been comfotable to me. occasionally I do put them in wrong which means I can feel them so I try again.
  • Wow this is interesting to me too! I just always thought that I just didn't like tampons as to why they weren't comfortable or couldn't insert them properly. I never equated it to my weight. I'll have to try them again!
  • Well keep in mind I was right at about 300 lbs so for some of you that were smaller at your high weight, I'm about 249 right now and I put one in this morning and it was SO much easier and no problems and can't feel it at all!
  • I dunno. I've never liked them at any weight.
