Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 8/15/2013 I started seeing my personal trainer
Starting Weight: a whopping 238 pounds
Present Weight: 226 pounds
Goal Weight: 130ish- 100+ pounds total
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I have always been slightly overweight, and eating healthy has never been something I seriously tried to do. It got worse when I moved in with my boyfriend 2 years ago, I was eating the same foods (pizza, pasta, carb and junk food galore) and just as much, if not more than he was. He is one of those people who can eat anything and everything in sight and not gain one pound. I tricked myself into thinking I could do the same. Now, at almost 250lbs I have come to the realization that my body is not built the same way and the only way I will be able to maintain a healthy meal will be eating small, healthy meals (with the occasional cheat to keep my sanity). The workweek has been fine to follow my food plan but once the weekend hits, I kind of fall into thinking “well, I lost 2 pounds this week, I deserve to eat whatever I want”. I’m all for having A cheat day but I need to get back on the train and not use it as a cheat weekend because I’m too lazy to make something for myself.
Following any specific plan: I started seeing a personal trainer over 7 weeks ago. The gym I go to is geared toward total lifestyle changes. There is a great team of 3-4 trainers there and I go in 3 times a week. I do cardio on my own the days I’m not at the gym (which I could do more of). My main trainer also provided me with a customized food plan to follow with plenty of options so I don’t repeat very often, and he is always a text away if I need suggestions for alternative meals.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Hiring a personal trainer. This is by far the most expensive diet I have ever been on, but it’s what I NEED to stay on track, to be held accountable. 3 times a week for the last 7 weeks I have never missed a workout session. I have weekly weigh-ins, every Saturday, to make sure I’m on track and we treat it more like a celebration of another successful week. Aside from the great group of trainers I have encouraging me, I also have a great support system. My boyfriend is 110% behind me (he has even started eating healthier), my friends are super supportive - even though I have been ditching out on events with them because I’m really trying to avoid alcohol, junk food, smoking, anything that would be in my face while hanging out. It sucks, but they understand and I don’t trust myself 100% YET to be around so many things that I am really trying to avoid on my journey to a healthy me. It will get easier

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: I am great at taking care of everyone else, not so great at doing the same for myself. Secondly, this is my first time trying to lose weight. I don't know what I'm doing or where to start.
Following any specific plan: This is the first step for me... Starting. I went grocery shopping yesterday and have a healthy meal plan for the week. I'm drinking more water. I'm here to gain knowledge, direction, info, and hopefully some support too.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I just realized...I am getting older and things are way too hard. I fell down my front steps in July and broke both arms kind of a wake up call.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am heavier now than I have ever been...I know for my health I need to take action.
Hobbies/Interests: I partake heavily of audiobooks...and British radio plays of the comedic variety...since work has me on the road quite a bit...
I also paint and have a thriving collection of house plants.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Eating healthful foods...eating at regular times so that I don't get super hungry and then overeat whatever is at hand.
Following any specific plan: Thinking about taking up one of the prepared meal diets so that I don't have to think about what I'm eating next and cut down on my grocery store time (and keep me away from the chip aisle).
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I am aiming for more community involvement for accountability and support.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I've been a member of this site for 8 years and this is one of my first posts. I find it significantly easier to be outgoing in the real world than on the internet.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: for me, it think it's consistency, and not getting "lazy" about weightloss. that no matter how tired i am from work and i don't feel like cooking, that i have 20 minutes to prepare myself a meal that is OP. also, planning. i find that i'm more successful when i do this. i need to be better about planning my day and meals.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: i feel like i didn't enjoy my 20's to the fullest, due to being obese for most of them. i want to be healthy, happy, and want to have a family at some point. and i want to be in good physical shape to do so

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Its just time. I really hit a low -My weight is at an all time high and the realization that if I want another kid I could easily go over 300 lbs.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I really need support. I am surrounded by some pretty perfect looking people who don't understand what its like. It makes it really hard to loose the weight.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Something just "clicked" for my body. After having a horrible case of the flu, my appetite never came back with it's usual vengeance. This allowed me to actually eat like a normal person, rather than like three or four normal people. Weight started flying off, in whooshes. I'd be at one weight for a while, then WHOOSH! Right now, I'm at a plateau, but I don't mind!
