Cool Melfitstar bio

First name: Melissa

Geographical location: Seattle, WA

Age:32

Marital Status: Single

Children/Ages: N/A

Occupation: Research Coordinator

Pets: cats, of course

Hobbies/Interests: honestly? tv and sleeping. I also enjoy but rarely go hiking, camping, bowling, to the movies, traveling, adventuring, etc... House work and or cooking is fun with a partner, alas I have none.

Height: 5'8''

Eye/Hair Color: blue/ blonde and pink

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 1999 and 12/26/12

Starting Weight: heaviest: 323 (13yrs ago), current 318

Present Weight: 318

Goal Weight: 250 to start, then 180, then reevaluate

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: food, it's delicious and I like to eat it until I have to roll off the couch in pain

Following any specific plan: tracking on daily burn, trying to eat low carb (really just no bread, chips, tortillas, etc) and high protein. Going to focus on strength training over cardio, since I seem to hate it and Dr. Said no weight bearing exercise . This fat chick has a runner inside which can be very depressing, actually.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm older and it's starting to effect me in different ways. My joints hurt, I'm tired all the time, I don't want to become diabetic, I lose circulation in my hands and feet nearly constantly which is horrifying.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I need a lot of help from people who understand, I want a sponsor like AA has. Someone who won't tolerate my excuses or self pity. I'm defiant though, so this could be tricky...

Marital Status: Married

Children/Ages: Nope, just fur kids!

Occupation: Insurance Agent

Pets: Toy Poodle Louie and Italian Greyhound Sophie

Hobbies/Interests: Shopping, Baking (and I wonder why I'm fat!), College Basketball, Reading, Sewing, Travel

Eye/Hair Color: Green Eyes, Brown Hair

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: May of 2012

Starting Weight: 278

Present Weight: 258

Goal Weight: 150-ish

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: ME! I am 100% my own worst enemy! Also, my hubby can eat whatever he wants and not gain an ounce so I always feel bad making him eat "diet" food!

Following any specific plan: Just trying to eat smart, less junk and move more. I've done well with weight watchers before so I may try that again.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: We moved to Denver in May and I'm not sure why but I've lost about 20 pounds since we've moved and I feel so much better! I just want to keep the ball rolling.

S/C/G: 305.6/305/150

Height: 5'

Default

First name: Christy

Geographical location: Dayton, Ohio

Age:30

Marital Status: Married to a wonderful man named Ben (4 yrs, 10 months)

Children/Ages: 1 - three year old daughter

Occupation: stay at home mom, but also babysit, work online, and board horses here on our farm, as well as give lessons.

Pets: 7 horses, 3 dogs, 2 cats, 16 chickens, 4 rabbits, 1 rat, 1 mouse

Hobbies/Interests: horseback riding and horses in general. Reading and writing, also.

Height: 5'0''

Eye/Hair Color: hazel eyes, brown hair

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 01/01/2013

Starting Weight: heaviest: 305.6

Present Weight: 305

Goal Weight: 150 eventually, but right now I'm aiming to be 110 lbs lighter by Dec. 31, 2013. Short term, I'm looking to lose 40 lbs by Easter...

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Myself! I need to keep myself in line and stay motivated. I am my own worst enemy. I KNOW I don't need that cake, or those seconds, and I think that...while going ahead and doing it anyway!

Following any specific plan: Weight Watchers

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancy in 2008, which makes me at even higher risk of developing type II diabetes. Recently, I've noticed my asthma, which rarely turns up, has been constant. This past summer...I couldn't go on a couple of the kiddie rides with my daughter...the ones that parents HAVE to ride, too? Yeah, she couldn't go on because I didn't fit. on top of that, for the first time EVER...I had to get off a roller coaster that I've ridden millions of times because I simply couldn't fit. Talk about wake up call!

Anything else you would like to share with us: My husband is also taking this journey with me. He only has about 90 lbs to lose. And it upsets me (even though it shouldn't) when he can just lose weight without really trying. I get grumpy when he reminds me that I shouldn't be eating something (although I've specifically asked him to!)...I just need some compassion and understanding from people who AREN'T my husband...less for myself...than for HIM...so I quit blowing up at him.

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: All of my life. Restart 1/2/13.

Starting Weight: Heaviest 346 about a year ago.

Present Weight: 332

Goal Weight:180

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Afternoon hunger. I stay feeling hungry even with a small meal or snack. Also the losing for good the 10 to 15 pounds I have lost and gained back over and over in the last year.

Following any specific plan: Counting calories and eating real food, less processed.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My husband has gained weight as well and now he is my get fit buddy.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I'm determined to only think about 10 pounds at a time. If I think of 100+ pounds to lose I will never make it. So My first goal is 10lbs by February.

First name: AlmostMe

Geographical location: London

Age: 42

Marital Status: Unhappily married, super stressed at home.

Children/Ages: One boy, age 5

Occupation: freelance/ under-employed

Pets: two cats

Hobbies/Interests:varies! Getting into rugby (watching, supporting my son's age group, and trying my best to play women's rugby) Do a bit of yoga. Politics and such like.

Height: 5'5"

Eye/Hair Color:green/brown

Starting Date of Weightloss Journey: 9 January

Starting Weight: 253

Present Weight:246

Goal Weight: To lose 25 lbs from pre-Christmas starting weight by 15 April. It's a bet I have with my brother. A bit of cheat as I know the 253 was partly water retention. Overall goal - 170, then re-evaluate. Perhaps 150. I'd love to be in the 'normal range', but honestly I've always been a bit heavy for my size, if that makes sense.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Portion size. Comfort eating. I'm very depressed (though better than I was)

Following any specific plan: Lots of exercise. Eating better, eating less.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm going to weigh myself more regularly to keep myself honest. I don't know. I'm sick of being unfit. I want to run fast and hit hard. I want to feel hot.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I can't believe that I actually need to lose 100 pounds to be in the normal range. It's outrageous. I want to be healthy.
