Following any specific plan: tracking on daily burn, trying to eat low carb (really just no bread, chips, tortillas, etc) and high protein. Going to focus on strength training over cardio, since I seem to hate it and Dr. Said no weight bearing exercise . This fat chick has a runner inside which can be very depressing, actually.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm older and it's starting to effect me in different ways. My joints hurt, I'm tired all the time, I don't want to become diabetic, I lose circulation in my hands and feet nearly constantly which is horrifying.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I need a lot of help from people who understand, I want a sponsor like AA has. Someone who won't tolerate my excuses or self pity. I'm defiant though, so this could be tricky...

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: ME! I am 100% my own worst enemy! Also, my hubby can eat whatever he wants and not gain an ounce so I always feel bad making him eat "diet" food!
Following any specific plan: Just trying to eat smart, less junk and move more. I've done well with weight watchers before so I may try that again.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: We moved to Denver in May and I'm not sure why but I've lost about 20 pounds since we've moved and I feel so much better! I just want to keep the ball rolling.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: Funny- My husband just asked me the same thing yesterday. We got married in October 2012 and in 2014 we want to start a family. This is the year for me to prepare for a baby. I've read some terrifying statistics on overweight mothers and how it affects their children. I want my future children to have the best start possible.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I had gestational diabetes with my pregnancy in 2008, which makes me at even higher risk of developing type II diabetes. Recently, I've noticed my asthma, which rarely turns up, has been constant. This past summer...I couldn't go on a couple of the kiddie rides with my daughter...the ones that parents HAVE to ride, too? Yeah, she couldn't go on because I didn't fit. on top of that, for the first time EVER...I had to get off a roller coaster that I've ridden millions of times because I simply couldn't fit. Talk about wake up call!
Anything else you would like to share with us: My husband is also taking this journey with me. He only has about 90 lbs to lose. And it upsets me (even though it shouldn't) when he can just lose weight without really trying. I get grumpy when he reminds me that I shouldn't be eating something (although I've specifically asked him to!)...I just need some compassion and understanding from people who AREN'T my husband...less for myself...than for HIM...so I quit blowing up at him.

Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Afternoon hunger. I stay feeling hungry even with a small meal or snack. Also the losing for good the 10 to 15 pounds I have lost and gained back over and over in the last year.

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: My husband has gained weight as well and now he is my get fit buddy.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I'm determined to only think about 10 pounds at a time. If I think of 100+ pounds to lose I will never make it. So My first goal is 10lbs by February.

Goal Weight: To lose 25 lbs from pre-Christmas starting weight by 15 April. It's a bet I have with my brother. A bit of cheat as I know the 253 was partly water retention. Overall goal - 170, then re-evaluate. Perhaps 150. I'd love to be in the 'normal range', but honestly I've always been a bit heavy for my size, if that makes sense.
Biggest hurdle to overcome in weightloss: Portion size. Comfort eating. I'm very depressed (though better than I was)
Following any specific plan: Lots of exercise. Eating better, eating less.
What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm going to weigh myself more regularly to keep myself honest. I don't know. I'm sick of being unfit. I want to run fast and hit hard. I want to feel hot.
Anything else you would like to share with us: I can't believe that I actually need to lose 100 pounds to be in the normal range. It's outrageous. I want to be healthy.

Anything else you would like to share with us: I got really depressed when my husband moved us to Arizona. I really missed my dear friends that I had grown up with and just sat inside my house and sulked feeling sorry for myself. Now I am tired of sitting inside and it's time to get my rear in gear!

What is different this time in your weight loss efforts than in the past: I'm trying to get healthier before I move. My fiancee has type 1 diabetes and is working on getting it under control, and I need my health better under control so we're both healthy and happy.
