I am sorry to hear that. I know that it is easier said than done, but try not to worry. This happened to me once and to several friends where it turned out that they just needed to get a better picture.

I've heard that too...that it can really be something quite simple. And if it IS something, it's better to be caught early.

Good luck on the surgery! I know you'll do fine!

I am sorry to hear this.

I know many folks that go back for another film done and it's nothing bad. Try not to worry - it won't change one thing.

If you are feeling really stressed, try to do some deep breathing to help.

I am hoping for the very best in your surgery and your next breast examm.

I am very stressed. I do have the surgery tomorrow and it is the first time I am being put to sleep so I have that and now the breast thing, which worries me because my momma and 1 of my sisters have battled breast cancer.

I know how you feel. Back in April I had a mammo and got a call back to reschedule another because they needed to get a better look. I freaked a little but went to the 2nd appointment a few days later where they did the repeat mammo and even an ultrasound. I have a lumpy left breast and while it did not look like it was anything to worry about I was told to reschedule for another mammo in 6 months. Fast forward 6 months I will be going back again on Monday the 18th. You are young, I am betting they just need a better view and you will be on your way but no matter what, it is good that you are on top of things. Best of luck!

I'm very sorry to hear this. Please let us know the results of the test. I know it is so very stressful to hear something like this, but know that in the vast majority of cases this is something routine (such as a benign cyst).

I'm so sorry to hear this. But as the above posters say, try not to worry yourself too much.
I hope that your surgery and test both have positive outcomes.

This happened to me a couple of years ago and it scared me a little because both my Mother and Grandmother had breast cancer. But everything was fine; I have lumpy breasts and one of the lumps just got caught at a particular angle on the film.

For me the first mammo was worse. I didn't eat breakfast and the room was a little warm so I think my blood sugar must have went too low. I remember the technician telling me to hold my breath and the next thing I knew I was getting up close and personal with the dust bunnies on the floor - I had passed out. Scraped up my face and arm and bent up my glasses. Imagine how the technician must have felt when the 300+ lb patient started falling to the floor.

As for your surgery, I had to have one as an outpatient in 2008 and was worried about the anesthesia (sp?). I remember transferring to the table and the mask coming towards my face and then.....................
the nurse was telling me it was time to wake up. Granted I hadn't slept the night before so I was really tired.

I know it's easier said than done but try not to worry. It'll drain your energy.
