SEPTEMBER Points challenge! (This has nothing to do with Weight Watchers)

  • SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE The year is flying by. Soon fall wil be here. What had you planned on doing? What have you done? There is still time!! But to get you going, how about a challenge this month?! It's somewhere to check in...some friendly competition. Join us for our monthly challenge!!

    Since this is a monthly challenge, it will start on the 1st and the day of the month is the day of the challenge. You need to post your points on a daily basis (or whenever you can). Simply reply to this post and then edit that post as you add points. That way you always know where you are and so do I!

    For those of you who have NO IDEA what I am talking about - here are the details. Sometimes we work our hardest when we are held accountable. So I challenge you to do your very best for the month and we'll see who wins!!

    Here is how it's going to go. Starting September 1, 2010. We will try to do the 3 things that work. Food, water & exercise. You decide what your food plan is, how much water you want to drink and how much exercise you want to get every day. Every day you have the opportunity to earn 4 points.

    2 point for sticking with your food plan (no splitting points here, you either stuck to your plan or you didn't)
    1 point for drinking the amount of water you decided on
    1 point for getting some exercise. (If you don't exercise on a given day - you DO NOT get a point for exercise - even if you planned it that way) Sorry, no 1/2 points.

    Post here with how many points you've earned for a given day, and I will keep track. We'll see who's did the best for the month.

    This is a very cool way to keep on track, because even if you don't do so great on food, you might still get in your water and exercise to earn the points!

    Note: When I do the final totals at the end of the month, I only include people who have participated 15 days or more.

  • Hi, I'm new to the board and would love to join the challenge! Count me in! =)

    Goals:
    Food - Stay under a NET total of 1800 calories
    Water - Drink 40 oz of water
    Exercise - Be active (i.e. working out, cardio, etc) for a minimum of 30 minutes

    2 - 3 points (food and water)
    3 - 2 points (water and exercise) - Happy hour always messes up my food goals! =(

    4 -3 points. Missed on water, but exceeded exercise expectations.

    My goals are:
    Count my calories-stay in 1700-1800 range
    At least 30 min of exercise 5 times a week
    Water goal: 8 glasses a day

    3 - 2 pts (I never see myself getting in a workout on Friday's unless I join the gym at work..which I will do at sometime, once I get trained in my job and know a schedule for myself--I give myself 2 months to get that membership).

    Under 1500 calories a day.
    100 oz water a day.
    Exercise in any way, shape or form for 30 minutes (walking mostly) daily.

    1. F = Staying within calorie range (varies b/c of cycling)
    2. W = >6 glasses each day
    3. E = 4-5 high intensity exercises, walking 2x/week

    all three of these things challenge me to some extent but two of these goals are MAJOR challenges for me!

    Goals:
    1. Stay "on plan" (Atkins)
    2. Drink at least 32oz water per day
    3. complete three household tasks (15 mins X 3)
