I had to go dress shopping today because I'm going to a fancy party.
I bought a beautiful sleeveless chiffon black beaded dress.
SIZE TWELVE!!!!
Oh. My. Goodness.
The last time I remember wearing a size 12 was around 1986. (Now, I know, vanity sizing and all... and I used to have to weigh under 160 to squeeze into a twelve...) BUT STILL! I actually had to be that lady who calls out from the dressing room and says, "can you bring me a smaller size!"
Then I went to buy shoes and instead of the 9 1/2 or 10s that I asked for, I only needed size 9. The sales clerk said, "your feet must be shrinking..."
Last summer, I shudder to think how the shopping trip would have gone!
Hi Uber, Congratulations of the 12. I recently did the same thing felt so good and I was shocked. Same here must have been late 80's early 90's since I wore a 12.
I keep hearing people say their feet are shrinking, whew I sure hope mine don't. About two months ago a shoe store here went out of business and I got some really great deals for my 10's.
I'd be green with envy if I weren't so happy for you. My butt and hips are about a 14, but my waist absolutely insists that it is a size 16-18, so there I sit with my baggy bum.

Well Congratulations again, take care
I'm really surprised about my feet! It's weird, because I was not one whose feet looked fat in any way. I was always slim from the ankles down, LOL. I think the one hundred extra pounds just squished my feet out more... or maybe there was this tiny thin layer of fat... little enough that you couldn't see it but enough to make a difference in shoes.
Anyway, I used to be a 9, then I became a 9 and a half or 10, but now I'm a 9 again.
Way to gooo!! What is vanity sizing?? I keep seeing that.
Well, you look too young to know about it in your picture, LOL.
Vanity sizing is when clothing manufacturers take into account that people are getting fatter and so they make their sizes bigger than they used to be.
I don't know precisely what the difference is, but I think today's 8 is about an old school 12. Apparently the only clothes that aren't vanity sized are high end designer clothes-- like Prada and stuff. If you can't fit into their biggest size (which is probably a 10 or something) you just can't wear Prada....
