My brain usually works in bullet points. So here is what is going on lately.

- I have my 60 mile walk this weekend!! Since I haven't trained as much for this as last year, it is going to be much more difficult (even if I am probably 80 pounds lighter from that time).

- My brother and his girlfriend visited me this weekend. This is the brother that had WLS and is now down 150 pounds (with about 100 to go)! He looks great. He told me at the airport that he barely recognized me and I told him the same thing. :) The important thing about the vacation here this weekend was that I ate relatively well and we got plenty of exercise walking around city.

- Every pound that I lose now seems extra special since I am SO CLOSE to goal. The lowest that I've seen on the scale was 205.4 and that was a few days ago. I might hit a new low again before the walk, but I know the scale will be up for about a week or so after the Komen. There is always significant water retention after doing something like that, but I'm looking for a nice "swoosh" into new territory a week or so later :D.

- I'm attaching a couple of picture of me and my friend Cheryl from this weekend. I used to avoid the camera like the plague, but I don't mind now. :p

man, you have really done a tremendous job! do you have any celebratory/reward plans for reaching your goal?

Matt-- you look AWESOME!!! And good for your brother too! It is so great that both of you have lost weight together.

Good luck on your walk-- even though you haven't trained as much, I bet being 90 lbs lighter will make a huge difference.

You look GREAT hun!! :D I know for me being 92lbs lighter it's a heck of a lot easier to walk further && you have a lot more stamina, haha :)

Matt, you're going to do great this weekend. Isn't it amazing the things that you can attempt and successfully master now that you've lost the weight? Ahhh. I'll be thinking of you; I hope the heat subsides. Let us know how it goes.

It's crystal clear why you don't mind having your picture taken now - because you are extremely good looking! Wow!!

That's so great about your brother. Must be very emotional for the both of you - trading war stories and all.

Oh and there's going to be a big celebration around here when you reach that goal of yours. I am looking forward to hearing of it. :)

Not really. My friend from Australia is coming to the US on August 10th and I've been looking forward to seeing her for a long time. I'd love to be at goal by then. That would be 5 - 6 pounds I'd need to lose in 3 weeks. It is definitely doable.

I think you really deserve to mark the occasion. Maybe even a little private ritual. Buying tickets to a concert, or something fun. I know there's so much reward in reaching the goal. But, wow!

Your posts are so inspiring to me! I think it's so wonderful that your brother is losing as well!
