I like seeing this. It gives me hope that...if I stay on-plan with my calories...and if I start exercising...I can possibly meet my goals by my birthday next year. Yeah, I know the chart may not be totally accurate, but it does make this visual and makes me see the possibilities. I've never lost over 35 pounds. I need all of the hope I can get! LOL
When I found this website yesterday, I told my boyfriend that it said he could be at his goal weight by the end of summer if he kept his calories around 2,000 a day and kept being as active as he has been (he's been working out with me while eating junk food like crazy) and then later that night when we were on the treadmills at the gym he says "You know, I probably ate about 2,000 calories today. Definitly not more. My dinner was 1,000 calories. I was just curious so I looked it up online..." So I may have manipulated him into starting eating better by sharing the info of this website with him even if he won't admit it. Teehee.
It's probably a good general guideline-- but it's depressing for the slow losers among us-- I did maintain a 2lb a week loss for the first 50 lbs or so, but since then I have to work just as hard to get a lb a week.
But, the bottom line is that people are more fixated on the finish line when they first start, not realizing the amazing benefits of losing that arrive long before you get to that ultimate "goal".
I just keep telling myself that slowly losing is good practice for maintenance!! I went into this thinking that in 4 years, I'll be in the same place, whether I lose 100 lbs in a year and then maintain or 25 lbs each year. And the reality has turned out to be something in between.
It says I should be in Onderland by xmas, and at goal by my next bday. Those are my ultimate goals, so it sounds good to me!! It's hard to tell if it's been right so far because I did WW for a long time before starting to count calories, and I had lost 16 lbs. before I really started paying attention to my weight again.
I cant tell if it is accurate or not, as my weightless hss been so non-linear for a number of reasons. But if I stuck to my budget like glue again, I bet it would be pretty close, from what I can tell
