Default Have to out myself

So, though I don't feel guilty (well maybe a bit stupid for not going with a small or even a medium!), I felt I have to share my splurge last night.

With 4 young kids, hubby and I rarely get alone time, heck the baby is still in our room at night, the "littles" (our 4 and 5 year olds) often are in our bed within an hour of bedtime. We try to get date nights once or twice a month. Well last night MIL kept the kids for 2 hours.. hubby and I went and got some LARGE blizzard type ice creams and went to a quiet park and ate them.. I truely enjoyed every second of both the time and the ice cream. I feel like a dork for getting a large, a small would have been just fine, but it was a nice break from "the real world". Then we came home and I did something I rarely do... drank 2 wine coolers (ok here is how often I drink, I bought this case last summer and it's still half full!) It was nice to keep the edge of the kids fighting going to bed from ruining the relaxing night I had. The scale "yelled" at me a bit, but I'm not worried. I chose to endulge in those goodies and I happily accept the numbers I see today. I am sure it will go right back down since most of it is probably water weight.

This is what I've tried to do too. No more guilt about "falling off a diet" setting me up to just keep going off plan. Nope, I own all my choices, even the ones that are for the less healthy stuff. But I am aware I am making that choice, not just doing it mindlessly. So I've become very particular about when I allow myself a bad choice, but once I do, I relax and enjoy the heck out of it! And I've generally found that the "fake weight" (since it's always wildly disproportional to the actual calories consumed) comes off pretty quickly.

Glad you had a good night!
