Question About Cordless Phones

I know this has nothing to so with the issues on this board. But I have a question about cordless phones.Does anyone know how secure they are? Are the 900MHZ the best ones to use? I would
appppreciate any info?
Thanks Lauren

what do you mean by how secure they are?
We have a 2 hand set (handy!) paid $150 at best buy. We bought 900mhz. I can take it 2 door down and still talk with no problems.

I loved my 900 mhz, but then upgraded to a 2.1 ghz and the only problems are:
1. If I use it in the kitchen or around a lot of appliances that are working, it gets really fuzzy.
2. I never can seem to keep the darned things on the base! :)
3. The caller id did not work when I had the base plugged in in the kitchen.

sometimes 2.1's don't work well with others...
we have a wireless computer system .. called an airport.. we were told not to get the 2.1 for the fuzziness that Denise spoke about.

Thanks for responding. But I was wondering how likely is it that neighbors are listening to your calls.
Thanks

From what I understand, anyone can listen in on a cordless call, but they have to have the equipment and intent. As for the neighbors accidentally hearing you over their own phone, I think that's unlikely. Maybe if you live in close quarters, like an apartment building ... never heard of that being a problem. You might ask a salesperson (if you can find one that actually knows anything about the products they're selling -- I apologize to any salespeople out there, just recalling my own experiences of buying electronic equipment)
