Question Exercise and TOM...

OK, I've noticed something odd, and I need to know if it's just me... does anyone else have problems working out during TOM? Usually, I could make it through the whole hour of Denise Austin, a little worn out, but I could make it... TODAY... nope, made it through the first half hour, felt good, got winded a lot easier though... started the second half hour, and I couldn't go through more than 10 minutes of the aerobics section, so I just kinda walked it out, and waited for the upper body workout... I was TOTALLY winded, and tired, couldn't even think about stepping up on that step one more time... and it's happened to me before, but ONLY during PMS and TOM...anyone else?

PNG - I'm actually fine during TOM, save for some cramping, but TOM for me only lasts two days at most (the first day is extremely heavy). PMS time, on the other hand, kicks my butt! I am dog tired for about three days, to the point where even nine hours of sleep isn't enough. I have to nap in the afternoons and I am generally groggy and sluggish when I'm awake. Thinking back on when I was regularly exercising, I did tend to do less if it was PMS time.

So I guess the answer is no, it's not just you.

docs have FINALLY realized that some women have trouble breathing during PMS/TOM. and they're not sure why. at least i haven't found out what they know.

asthma gets worse, too. i've had the problem for years, but never spoke up because [1, 2, 3, all together now] 'it's your weight.' and turns out that it wasn't. damn them!!!

TOM sort of snuck up on me this month because I didn't have the usual PMS symptoms. I worked out six days that week and have been taking evening primrose oil every day for the last 2 months. This month TOM wasn't a huge deal. I fell asleep early one evening, and had a small cracker binge the afternoon before.

I think the excercise must have really helped keep my neurotransmitter levels elevated or something.

Can I just say that this whole cyclical hormonal thing sucks. Everything seems harder for 2 weeks a month, eating, moving, breathing, thinking, relating to people. The thing I really loved about pregnancy was that I felt very even keeled for a few months.
