It's depressing and oddly motivating at the same time. I'm not playing yo yo anymore. It's gotten old!!

Let's see. As a teenager I lost and regained the same 20 lbs at least 3 times. There's 60. In college I lost 20 lbs gained it all back plus a ton and then buckled down and lost 60 so now we're at 140. I gained 100 lbs not counting baby while pregnant with my son and lost 100. Now 240. I have lost at least 70 when you count a couple setbacks this go around. 310 lbs. Wow!!

Puts it in perspective. This little 42 I have left will be easy as cake. Er rice cakes .

I did this for one month once, a year or so ago. I had lost and gained the same 5-7 pounds 3x in one month and ended up with a net of 1 pound lost but if you added up each week I had lost something like 20 pounds that month.

I have several times in my life lost 35-40 pounds and regained it all plus more.

It IS depressing but it is also a wake up call to me that "going off" plan and regaining is SUCH a waste of effort. It is HARD to lose these pounds and we have to hang onto the losses, even if it means maintaining for awhile. Better than a regain.

I had many incidents of non-scale watching losses in high school and college. I went from a 12 to a 6 several times. One I remember being a 40 lb loss, then three years ago I lost 30. (Stupid to have regained it plus) and now my 45. So I guess 115 lbs that I can measure.

There's no way for my to count, I lost track so long ago. It has to be in the thousands by now (I was put on my first diet at age 5).

This time IS the first time that I've lost more than 70 pounds in total. It's also the slowest I've ever lost (I'm for once not trying to lose it as quickly as I can, by any means necessary).

Man, this is a good idea. Let's see...the first time I dieted was high school. I lost 80 pounds, then gained it back over 2 years losing a frantic 10 pounds each for the 5-6 times I flew back see my friends after moving, so there's 130 so far. Then 15 pounds last summer, which I then gained back plus more. Then the 14 I lost so far this time around. So 159...just over what I need to lose this time. Somehow that doesn't make me feel better...lol

This an interesting thought. I am the most yo-yo dieter there ever was. To look at my weight you would think I don't try. But I do try, all the time. Problem is that I get of track and gain it all back with interest EVERY SINGLE TIME.

I have kept track of my weekly weight on a spreadsheet since 2001. The most common phrase on my spreadsheet is "Started Over". Prior to that I know I lost 40 lbs twice, so lets' count that.

Prior attempts: 80
2001: 67.5
2002: 40
2003: 42
2004: 36.6
2005: 40.2
2006: 72.2
2007: 49
2008: 30.4
2009: 65.8

Total: 523.7

Keep on eye on me in 2010. You will see a different Sandi. I believe I have tamed the beast.

Never really thought about it actually. Really the only other time that I did lose when I did weight watchers like 5 years ago and lost 40. Other than that I did a little after I had my kids but since then I didn't really want to do it.
