Fat, protein, carb ratio

  • The program I use to track my calories also tracks everything else-fat, protein, carbs, fiber, all vitamins and minerals, water, exercise. You name it, it tracks it, which I really like because I can make sure I'm getting a well-rounded diet. With this though, I was wondering what a normal range for protein, fat and carbs is.

For the last month, my average has been-
    Protein 40%
    Fat 37%
    Carbs 23%

I'm just doing calorie counting for weight loss. Does this seem average, does one section seem to high or low? Anyone care to share their averages?
  • I don't know what normal is but mine tends to be 20-25% carbs and the balance split fairly evenly between fat and protien.
  • Average for the last 2 months is 39% protein, 41% carbs, and 20% fat. I don't avoid fat in particular, but I like to EAT and fat calories stack up so quickly!

I also average 40+ grams of fiber a day, so that carb figure is lower than it looks.
