NSV - I ate McDs

  • I know, that doesn't sound like a very good NSV, but hear me out. I ended up in the E.R. last night. I'm ok, but after being there for hours I was starving and did not feel like coming home to cook, so I told hubby I wanted chicken nuggets. He asked a few times if I was sure, but then he took me to get them. The NSV part comes from the fact that I didn't enjoy them. I did not eat as many as I once would have. I ate enough of them to not be hungry and that was all, because they weren't some awesome yummy thing for me like they once were. I had already developed a distaste for almost all fast food, but the nuggets have been the last to die. So my NSV is that I don't like McNuggets, and that's a major NSV for someone who once would eat 30-40 nuggets plus fries 2-3 times per week.

Bonus: Even with the e.r. and not drinking enough yesterday due to not feeling well, plus I have a cold, plus the nuggets (and small fries), plus no exercise yesterday, I am only up 1 pound. With the drugs, the cold, the McDs (good goddess, the sodium), the lack of appropriate hydration I was expecting 3 or more, but I only got 1, woohoo! I refuse to change my ticker because I'm gonna get the sucker right back off of me.
  • That is BIG! WTG getting off the McD's food. I know what you mean... I remember when I realized I didn't like McNuggets anymore either!
  • I hope you feel better soon. McDonalds isn't the same as it use to be for a lot of people.

I just have to say that I have on cool socks too. I just love your avatar.
  • good news and good NSV!!!

I was actually wondering the same thing - I like chicken Mcnuggets too, although I hadn't been having them as much, I was having the 10 piece meal a couple of times a month. I haven't had any since I started this. On Thursday night, I took my son to a school-related fundraiser at McDonalds and I wondered if I would still even like them. I didn't give myself a chance to find out because I got food for him and he ate there, but I waited until we got home to eat my healthy supper. Fortunately for me, of his own volition, he picked apple dippers instead of fries, so I didn't have to find out if I could resist those!

But I was kind of thinking I might not like them anyway. Glad to hear your story because that makes it that much easier for me to assume that's the case for me too, and to not have to even think about trying them.
  • Woo Hoo! There is hope for me!
  • Congrats chickie!!
