Default A food related treat

but no, not anything bad.

I decided to buy my lunch today. I had a very long and exhausting day yesterday and just didn't have the energy to do all the prep I would have had to do in order to make my usual lunch salad. I do as much as I can over the weekend, but by mid week, I need to prep some more.

I'm going to a healthy place and will get a bowl with chicken, brown rice and a double serving of veggies - nothing is fried, no MSG, everything is steamed or grilled. So nutritionally, it will be pretty close to my normal lunch. I'll enjoy the food, it's very tasty. But the nicest part was getting to relax a bit more this morning and snuggle with my son, instead of taking the time to make a lunch.

Aside from one work function lunch, this will be the first time since I started in November that I haven't brought my lunch to work. I won't be doing this all the time, but it's sure nice to allow myself a food-related treat that doesn't involve eating food that isn't the best choice.

Finding places that sell healthy food is a treat itself!! I have so much trouble here. Keep that place on your short list for sure!!

That sounds great. I wouldn't call it a food treat but a relaxing and snuggling treat!

I've been through this too. I have a general plan of attack if I must eat out. I have a joe's crabshack, and I would get a big salad with lettice, tomatoe, egg and chicken with low cal/low fat dressing, My favorite greek place which will be difficult, but I will get a Gyro Salad less the dressing and no fries I will try to find some low fat/low cal dressing to bring for work for those occassions, there is a Subway not far and I could get a sub salad or get one of their lighter sandwhiches.
