I keep doing this. I keep ignoring the "too small" shirts that aren't anymore!! LOL! It takes a lot of convincing myself in the morning to just try it.
Part of my problem is that I have been wearing an XL ever since high school when I was a tiny 135 because that was the style. So to look at a size "L" top and think "Yep, that'll fit" takes a lot of mental energy.
