Default I'm kind of glad I hit a plateau now

The eternal optimist.

I have only been doing this for about 3 months, so I'm still in the honeymoon phase, yet not so early on that a plateau is discouraging. I guess it's a good time to hit a plateau because I have enough energy and will power to get through it.

Just musing...

Me too...I think I am at my first plateau now also...

BUT I feel like I can't really call it a plateau...because there are still things I know I need to change. I see it more like my body saying..."Cathy, time for changes...h-e-l-l-o!"

I have been struggling with this, too. Still staying on plan, but it can be discouraging! I am thinking I might put away the scale for awhile.

Bob on The Biggest Loser doesn't believe in plateaus. I am just not sure what to think! I have had a small loss the last few weeks, but things have definitely slowed way down. I decided to stop beating my head against the wall and just go with the flow. lol

Glad mine finally ended. It sucked, although in retrospect, it wasn't as long as I thought it would be-- and I think I'll be in my TEENS before much longer

I don't care what Bob thinks, plateaus do exist! You can't weigh 200+ pounds, eat between 1200 and 1500 calories a day, and exercise, NOT lose weight and NOT call it a plateau! LOL! (That's a lot of negatives to plow through, but I think you see my point. )

Keep doing what you are doing. It will break. It sucks that it is right around the ondeeland mark, but how exciting to be that close! You were no where near there a few months ago. I too stalled right at onderland's door. I also stalled at 209 and 195.

Been there myself and have lost faith in the numbers on the scale. I am chugging right along weighing near the same as I have for months but wearing smaller clothes (sz regular 14's BABY woohoo) and noticeably toning up. I do wonder what Bob and Jillian would have me do to drop in numbers but I am working out with a trainer 3 days a week and doing 3 more days of cardio. I give each workout my all and I am feeling stronger and healthier. I encourge you to find other ways to measure your success that has kept me from going crazy.

Bob and Jillian would rake me over the coals for not losing weight. I'm like you, giving each workout my all. It kills me that I'm toning up underneath layers of fat. I know I'll be glad I did it this way once I get there, but right now, if I'm being honest, I just want to lose pounds. I play mental games with other ways of measuring my success. When I fit into a new size, I tell myself they really fit no different than they did before or I'll tell myself the clothes got sloppy or stretched out. Mind you, I play the same game when my clothes get too small. Notice I say "the clothes get too small" not "I got too fat".

I took pictures on my anniversary date and I'll it again on the ninth of this month. I took pictures of me trying to get into 16's and 10's. The 10's are great! LOL! I'm hoping that by photographing how I can NOT get into jeans it will stop the mental games once I get there.

Also, I know that in the pictures at 207 lbs I could not zip or even close the 16's in the pictures. Just 3 lbs lighter and I can actually wear them in public. So I know my body is making changes. *sigh* It's just hard to get me to focus on that.

I love me some Bob, but yeah, he can pretty much bite me on that one. I am *still* riding out a plateau that started in October, and I work out like it's going out of style. I'm on less than 20 carbs a day right now and still not losing (and no, my measurements aren't changing either) so even Bob couldn't tell me this plateau is all my fault.

Eliana, hang in there. It's rough, I know. Oh, how I know. You'll break through.

I too had my share of plateaus during my journey. I decided to turn it around this way. It's really obvious that your body is going through lots of changes right now, like losing inches, getting smaller and feeling better. Your body is doing it's best to readjust to this new lower weight--give it some time to catch up with you. Keep doing what you are doing, it's working!
