Default Hi! Ready to make a change.

Hi, I've been coming and reading this site for a few years now for support and inspiration, but this is my first real post. I am in my early thirties, and have been struggling with my weight ever since I was 13. When I was 13 I got on a scale and it said "150". I was 5'7 at the time and though I was huge! That unfortunately has been my lowest weight since that time. At the end of high school and college I stayed around 170-180, and though if I'd ever get over 200 lbs, I'd kill myself. Well, after being with my husband (who also severely overweight) we gained and gained. Through most of my twenties, I've been around 220 and 240 lbs, after having 2 children. In March of this year, I managed to get down to 219, but this morning as I weighed in, I was a shocking 264 lbs. I account much of this recent weight gain to being depressed, we recently moved to a new city and I have been comforting myself with food. But I am ready to change..I've gotten organized, and I want to deal with this issue once and for all...I am sick of thinking about food/weight and how I wish I could lose weight...for almost 20 years now, all this type of thinking has done for me is made me fatter! Action...ACTION!! I'm just gonna do it...no more waiting for tomorrow...TODAY IS TOMORROW! I am proud to say I did 45 minutes on my elliptical this morning, burned 560 calories..hey it is a start!! I want to get healthy and hopefully will inspire my husband to also! How do you lose over 100 lbs?? One pound at a time!! We all can do this!!

Welcome goal! Your weight pattern sounds so much like mine... except that instead of stopping at 264 I let myself balloon up to 295. Not very pleasant.

I'm here to say that you ABSOLUTELY CAN do this! Just make a plan and stick to it like Gorilla Glue!

And stick around here. There are a lot of smart people here to help you out.
