congrats Eliana!

I posted about you somewhere, and how I think this is the best long term goal. Yes, it's great to get specific goals in terms of weight, but we all know that we can't always control the scale. But staying on plan, day after day, month after month, is the part that we have control over, and I have no doubt you will achieve this goal!

Beachy, thank you!

Peanut, I really needed something that was fool proof and for me, that was it. Just keep going. I've hit two rough patches now and my past history would have had me throwing in the towel saying that I can't do it. I'm too different from everyone else. In the real world, we only see success, never failure. "I lost 100 lbs." "I lost 30 lbs in three months." Blah, blah, blah. But truly, everyone, or most people, experience bumps, hurtles and yes, plateaus!

But I really, really want to know where I'll be if I just keep plodding along. Obviously I CAN lose weight if I can just muster up the patience. Patience is by far the hardest part about losing weight for me.

Well done, Eliana! I enjoy reading this post each month, too, and think it an excellent approach.

I think this is a great idea (monthly updates all in one thread/post). Do you mind if I borrow your idea? I too am in it for the long haul - the first time in my life where I haven't said "I'm gonna lose x number of pounds in x number of weeks/months" and then I can be done with this "diet."
