Careysings - thumbs up - I agree too! Some of it's the easier movement, greater strength, and higher endurance that goes with the loss of the weight, for sure. What's been a total and wonderful surprise for me at 42 has been the MENTAL benefits of accepting a challenge and taking action against the fat - the "hey, I CAN do this! I CAN feel really good about how I look!"

You have hit the nail on the head! Weight loss is slower for me than it has been in the past but I feel like I am getting younger and younger. Many of the aches and pains that I attributed to aging were really obesity related.

This is an excellent thread for motivation!
I turned 53 this summer. Having lost all of my 40s to being severely obese, and now starting my 50s that way too--I've recently decided to start trying harder to take things in hand and start improving the way I feel and look.
It's SLOW going, but I'm hoping to get there eventually.

yes, a great way to look at things! I haven't had a sore back in years now, or sore hips/joints, it's amazing!! on the DOWNSIDE however, is that from a distance I look young, but I'm afraid I might be suffering from O.F. S, or OLD FACE SYNDROME!!! ugh, do you ever notice who lose a lot of weight and the fluffy stuffing goes out of their wrinkles or something LOL I think I look a HUNDRED years old, but feel 20 inside

It is truly amazing how much better I feel since losing the weight. I didn't go to the Dr at my high weight because I was scared to find out how bad things were (stupid, I know). I'm almost positive I was either diabetic or very, very close. I feel so good now, no more numb hands and feet, no more pounding/strange rythm heartbeat, I could go on and on! I'm 45 and I feel better than I did at 25.
Trazey, I know what you mean about the old face syndrome, but when I looked at some pictures of my face at 265 lbs. it wasn't good. I think I thought my face looked better than it did. At least now I can wear all the cute clothes. And bangs are your friend, they cover the forehead creases!

Absolutely true. I used to attrubute my morning aches and pains to aging--they're gone now--sometimes replaced by a little muscle tenderness from exercise, but that's OK.

Wow, I could really repeat everything everyone said on this thread.
Recently, every time I look in the mirror, I can't believe it. I look so young and cute. (ditching the long frizzy graying hair really helped too!)
I too had this sickish, depressed, frustrated feeling just six months ago. Now, that could not be further from the truth.

When I first read this, I thought it said, "And bang all your friends"!
