Heater, I understand that you feel disappointed. I too had my crazy time goals. Although I didn't actually write them down, I had it in my head that if I started this journey Oct 08, that surely I would be at my goal by June 09--that's 8 months for 60 lbs, less than 8 lbs per month. Doable? Certainly! But my body did not feel that way. I think that when I started I also had alot of doubts whether this was even possible for me. So when I didn't reach certain "milestones" that it was proof that it was not possible for me to lose weight. June 09 came and I was around 150. Not my goal by any means, but by that time I came to realize that I was still 45 lbs down--amazing! The last 15 have taken about 4 months and about 2 sizes.

Where am I going with this? Oh yes! The important thing is that even when I was starting, I FELT amazing! I felt like I had been released from this "food fog" because I was eating better. My body felt awesome because it was getting adequate exercise. I slept better without reflux. I even stopped getting up to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night because I was drinking more water during the day rather that feeling dehydrated at night and chugging a glass of water before bed.

You have made some awesome changes! Soon you will reap the benefits!

It's only since I began to read the posts on 3FC that I began to realize that my expectations as far as how fast I should lose were unrealistic. I was also stuck in that old idea of a diet being 1200 calories. Something that almost always leads to failure. Now that I see that I'm doing about the same as other people here, and some that have lost a significant amount, I feel so much better. I'm also eating around 1500 calories a day and that is so much better as far as not feeling so deprived or hungry. So, it looks like you are doing fine and quite in line with what you should expect. So, please don't beat yourself up over nothing. I say it's a good day when I stay the same or better yet, LOSE! I say that because when I'm not on a food plan I'm gaining. So look in the mirror, say "I love you you skinny thing!" and go out and face the day.
