    So not only does it trick your brain into thinking you're getting calories that aren't there so you overeat to compensate, it's bad for your blood pressure which can in turn be bad for your heart. (unless I am not reading the article right).

    I'm so glad everyone at 3FC does this kind of research & we share it with each other. Without it, I'd be a lot worse off, and never would have known agave nectar existed.

    Corn in some form is something we eat almost every day without knowing it. It's fed to cattle (instead of grass); and the by-products of corn are put into our food directly. That is one reason the price of food has gone up; corn is being diverted to fuel cars and it's more profitable than food additives. Hence, food manufacturers have to pay more for the products they have come to rely on. If you read The Omnivore's Dilemma, it talks about this. I couldn't put that book down when he was describing what our government allows to be labeled "organic."
