Exclamation Check this out, I thought of you guys (HFCS)

There have been countless discussions here on how bad this stuff is for you, but here is an article I just found trolling ASN's website. (American Society of Nephrology)

So not only does it trick your brain into thinking you're getting calories that aren't there so you overeat to compensate, it's bad for your blood pressure which can in turn be bad for your heart. (unless I am not reading the article right).

I'm so glad everyone at 3FC does this kind of research & we share it with each other. Without it, I'd be a lot worse off, and never would have known agave nectar existed.

You will be absolutely amazed if you look at the ingredients of most prepared food, and drinks; high fructose corn syrup is most likely on the list.

Corn in some form is something we eat almost every day without knowing it. It's fed to cattle (instead of grass); and the by-products of corn are put into our food directly. That is one reason the price of food has gone up; corn is being diverted to fuel cars and it's more profitable than food additives. Hence, food manufacturers have to pay more for the products they have come to rely on. If you read The Omnivore's Dilemma, it talks about this. I couldn't put that book down when he was describing what our government allows to be labeled "organic."

"There is no use trying,"said Alice; "One can't believe impossible things." "I dare say you haven't had much practice," said the Queen. "When I was your age, I always did it for half an hour a day. Why, sometimes I've believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast."
