Feeling like a failure

  • I've been alternating by workouts with one day bowflex for an hour, next day Zumba basic for an hour. I do this Sunday through Friday, and take Saturday's off. I felt comfortable enough to try the 20 minute express workout today, and it kicked my butt. I only made it 15 minutes, and I am still dripping sweat 20 minutes later.

The worst thing, it got to the point in the tape where I was not really sure about the moves, and I just gave up. Just like that. Now I feel doubly like a failure, I couldn't even make 20 minutes, and I quit.

To top it off, the scale is stuck at 210-211. It's been almost 2 weeks, and I am frustrated.

    GAH!
  • I did that with 30DS the second day, and on top of the exercise dilemma last night I overate a LOT. I haven't been that hungry in months, and even after eating I felt like I hadn't eaten anything! We both need to pick ourselves up, dust ourselves off and just continue on chickie I'm here for ya<3

  • Don't feel bad just keep going! Tomorrow is a new day good luck
  • I don't see doing 15 out of 20 min of something you were doing the first time as a failure...that's an accomplishment.
  • Hummm. It's looks like a set-up to me. You're setting yourself up is what it looks like. The food addiction is rearing it's ugly head and with your weight temporarily not going down (temporarily!!) it's just fine if you can add another "failure" to the list and hopefully give in and eat. That's the goal of the addiction. to eat. You have to turn this around and look at it like it really is: an accomplishment. And of course the scale will move if you just keep doing what you are going. Smile! Repeat after me: "Yeh for me!"
  • Just be patient and keep going

I think you are doing so well- sometimes we are too hard on ourselves- look at what you have accomplished! 15 lbs and you've been here what? One month! WOW!
  • Look at it this way - the fact that you were unable to do it just gives you something to add to your list of goals - 1. being able to get through it and then 2. it gets too easy for you so you have to find something else. Both of those goals will come, just keep at it.

    I agree!!!!

Just pick yourself up, dust yourself off and KEEP GOING! You CAN do this!!
  • I think you did JUST FINE for your first time doing it! And each time will get easier and easier until you have to ditch it because it's too easy! Don't be too hard on yourself... your weight will whoosh off soon if you just stick with it!
  • You've been doing awesome! If someone else had done the same thing - 6 hours of exercise per week, and had a very hard 15 minute workout - would you criticize them for not being able to finish the last 5 minutes the first time, especially knowing how hard it is? NO - you would be supportive & encouraging. Hats off to you - don't give up - you're doing great.
  • I have gotten frustrated a time or two. Just get back at it!! It will get easier!
  • Thank you for your kind words. I really needed to hear them. And you are right, I would never criticize anyone else for doing only 15 minutes. I guess we are our own worst critics.

I did get to see 209 this morning. I'm sure it'll disappear again for a few days, but I am counting it. I need it.
  • I don't think I could have done 5 minutes of it! You are doing fantastic... keep it up!
