I always used to hide behind my hair, but I cut it off about 5 years ago because I was tired of constantly hiding behind it. Right now it is in an inverted bob (shorter in the back), about down to my chin, and I love it!
yes i had long hair for a long time, til i caught sight of myself in the reflection of a window while eating at an outside patio - ugh, seeing this long streaming hair over the mound of my back and shoulders it was just hideous, i had it cut off the next day and never looked back!!! DH likes it this way, he says he can see my FACE now!
I always think women look better with shorter hair. I've seen many women with long hair and then they cut it and although you thought they looked good with the long hair, the shorter hair brings something out that makes you think wow.
The only time I have longish hair is when I get too lazy to cut it or I'm trying to grow it out so that I can do something specific with it. Right now, I'm not sure what I want to do with my hair but I know I want to get it cut.
I dont wear my hair super long to hide stuff on me, but I do keep it kind of long cause Im scared the short style will make me look more hog headed than I am now. Short styles on my seem to intensify my fatness.
I am doing the opposite I think, I've always had shorter hair, chin length - but I want to be a skinny girl with long hair - so I've been growing it out. I've also been trying to be consistent with cutting and styling my hair, partly for the business I'm in, but also long hair NEEDS to be cut! Here's hoping I don't get fed up and cut it all off before it gets to the length I want it to!
So if you don't want to lose your long hair completely? Get it cut, some layers, maybe some side swept bangs?
I keep mine at about shoulder length... any longer and I feel it looks "stringy", any shorter and I feel my large face is too obvious. It's slimmed down some from the weightloss, but it was square shaped when I was 140, so I have no illusions that this will change.
I've noticed that when I grow my hair out I get a lot of compliments. BUT, I hear, "Oh, your hair is so pretty." My long hair is pretty but it does NOT suit me. When I cut it in a modified bob I hear, "That haircut is cute on you."
I think I use long hair as vanity & trying to recapture my youth. I think a lot of heavy chicks look so much better in short-medium hair. It looks more put-together.
In college my hair was very long and I hated it! I was broke & didn't want to take a chance on a cheap haircut. I spent at least four semesters getting up each morning & french braiding my hair! I had quite the scrunchie collection. Life wasn't that hard, tho. I was in a size seven back then. :-)
