Oh Man, Chaffing Issues From Exercising!

  • My fat thighs have been rubbing together since I've been doing the aqua classes. My suit has built in shorts and it rubs against my skin and my skin rubs together between my legs. Its the only suit I have so I don't have much of a choice other than buying another which isn't in my budget right now.

So I've got this chaffing going on. I had just a little bit yesterday and I thought that it was tolerable and not much of a big deal. But today... holy moly! Its worse and raw and very painful.

Usually I put lots of zinc oxide powder on before exercising so I don't get chaffed and it works pretty good. But in the water I cant do that.

I don't know what to do. I'm taking the weekend off as I usually do from exercising. I hope my skin is better by monday.

Can you ladies tell me what you normally do for this kind of problem.

This is reason # 75,846,921,333 for why I want to lose weight.
So my skin doesn't rub together anymore.
I've heard that this works great.
  • Thanks, I'll try it for sure. It kinda sucks that the closest place to get it is 30 miles from me.
  • in the mean time.....vaseline?
  • It's weird to say but in water any silicon based lube will be awesome to avoid chaffing so go to your local drug store and hit up the family planning section lol The most common is called wet platinum A little bit will go a long way!

That's basically what body glide is...just marketed differently
  • A and D ointment, works like magic both pre and post chaffing and u can get it at any Wal-mart, drug store or any place like that
  • Okay this will sound pretty weird but I use to be a waitress. My legs chaffed so bad a lot of times I could barely walk right. My momma had me to try the generic monostat you can get a wal mart...now keep in mind, it was my inner thighs chaffed and not my..privacy. I put the cream on my inner thighs and I swear, I had relief within a hour or two. I swear by it and I used it up until recently when I no longer get chaffed.
  • I've also heard that plain old deodorant will do the trick.
