Finding Nutritional Value for Resturant foods

  • Does anyone know how to find the nutrinal value on resturant foods? For instance I love the Joe's Crab Shack Chicken Cob salad, which I'm having for lunch today. I did a google search but I couldn't really find anything. Anyone have any suggestions?
  • I would try dailyplate.com, but it may not be the most reliable source since I don't think Joe's Crab Shack lists their nutritional facts (meaning that the dailyplate values are just a guess).
  • Okay I'll try there it at least gives an idea. Anyone know what the daily limitations should be for fat, calories?
  • Some restaurants post it on their websites. If not, you can call or email and ask. If they won't tell you, that should tell you something about the food.
  • Cobb salads have a lot of places for fat and calories to hide: bacon, blue cheese, egg, avocado, dressing... Tasty but dangerous.

Salads are often some of the highest calorie items on a menu, sadly. If it's all veggies and low fat, low calorie items like grilled chicken and you control the dressing they can be great additions to your plan. Once the cheese, ranch, and bacon come out to play all bets are off!
