Back in the saddle again....
Wow. This really is a life long battle. Just to think that just over a year ago I was almost 50lbs lighter and feeling great and swore I would never go back...and here I am, back to my starting weight, tired, uncomfortable, self conscious and sad/angry. It was so easy to get off the wagon, get complacent. A couple of things have gone awry in my life and I ended up not paying any attention to what I eat and stopped working out and here I am. Starting over. Ok so today, I've got all my food prepared wringing in at 1935 calories if I eat everything (which I usually don't so I think I'll probably end up around 1700 when all is said and done). I've discovered the oatmeal and egg white pancake recipes....so that is what I had for breakfast....yum! Food for the rest of the day includes fruits and vegetables, nuts, fish, and whole grain rice. I also got up and went to the gym this morning. It was hard making that first morning step out the door and it wasn't as early as I wanted but I made it for a good half hour of cardio. Tomorrow I will do more.
So here it is. I'm not going to be sad or angry anymore. I'm not going to be defeated or depressed... I'm going to quit my whining and get off my a$$ and do something about it. I will take this weight back off and then continue in taking off more and getting healthy and to goal. I'm going to continue to be empowered looking for a new career path, getting my bills paid off and getting towards a healthier and happier life. I'm starting today off on the right foot and I'm going to keep putting one right foot in front of the other! I will change my life.
wish me luck!

Thanks, it's good to be back. It's been a long time.
I guess there is a south beach diet oatmeal pancake recipe....but I found a different variation that I like better.
1/2 cup egg whites (I use the egg whites from the carton)
1/2 cup oatmeal
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp cinnamon
whip it all up, form into a pancake and cook....
I actually made it last night and let it sit in the fridge overnight to soften the oats. I also added a bit of dry toasted un-salted slivered almonds to the mix. Other things...add 1/2 cup of mashed banana or top with mashed banana...add blueberries, top with cottage cheese... I topped with a dash of sugar free syrup and strawberries
Makes one serving, 200 calories, 4g fat, 150mg sod, 28 carb, 13 pro (toppings not included, almonds not included)

Hello, YogaGal! Congratulations on taking back control of your life!
It sounds like you have hit a few definite rocky patches in the last year, but your attitude as you step back into the game can not be faulted --- you are ready, determined and clued in. I think you have demonstrated a really important lesson for all of us: if this whole weight loss adventure doesn't become a way of life as opposed to a diet, the dratted pounds of fat will find us again. I look forward to watching you obliterate your unwanted "guests" and forge your own path to a destiny of your own choosing.
(PS --- Hey ThinPossible! Two days! WOOT!)

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt in 10 different sizes.
Well done for retrieving it before it got worse though, good job!
And thanks for the reminder about the pancakes, I'd forgotten that recipe. Tomorrow's breakfast sorted!
