I just got my license on December 1st of last year, and I was 21. I never learned in high school because I went to a residential high school where we couldn't drive. Then it just became this fear for me. My husband taught me at the end of last year, and I'm so happy..lol

Anywho-My dl says I weigh 239, which I did at the time. But now I'm 255. I'd like to get down to that weight and keep on flying past it!

I just renewed mine in April. It had said 200 lbs. At 269lbs, that was not believable. So I told the guy 230. I’m almost halfway there. I’ve lost 23 lbs since then. That experience is what motivated me to start losing weight. As soon as I reach my goal, I’m getting a new license with a new picture and a new weight. Maybe even my true weight.

I just realized that I weigh less than my license says I do! It took me 4 months and 40 lbs.

My license (and ID card before I had a permit/license) has said 290 since I was 20. I was probably at around 300 then. I'm ashamed that I'm ashamed enough to lie, if that makes sense. But once you cross into the magical 300 territory (and are out about it) people look at you different and I was trying to hide from that.

So I guess this is the closest I have been to my DL weight... ever!

I have to renew mine before my BDAY next week. I am nowhere NEAR what I weighed at that time. I know I'm gonna lie to be as close to it as possible. Maybe I'll even say the same number, even if they give me that "Yeah right" look.

Do you have to put on a new photo every time you re-apply?

I wish we did. I've just had to send mine off to get my address details changed but there was no option to update photo. Pity. The moonface on my licence looks nothing like me now. I hope. This is an encouragment, on another weekend when the ground feels slippery under my feet, to keep on going and get even more unrecognizable!

Here in NM we do, it kind of bums me out because so far I've lived here for two years and had five pictures - ID when I moved here (space alien photo), first permit picture (fabulous), second permit picture (okay), third permit picture because I got married and changed my name (awful), and my you-got-your-license photo (decent, but not as good as first permit picture).

But I definitely see why they do it - I am just vain!

We don't have to add a new photo every year but this year I do. I'm going to sweet talk my way into keeping the one I already have.

very cool, sk!! congrats

when I moved from Calif to NYC, I kept my Calif license for many years. (You have to list your weight on Calif license, and you can renew by mail several times, no new pics). I finally caved and got a NY about 3 years ago -- I have to dig out that old Calif license, I know lied about my weight on it (probably by 20 or 30 lbs). Which makes me wonder why they even require it, how many women tell the truth on it anyway. Plus, it doesn't get updated to reflect gains/losses.

NYS doesn't require weight on their licenses.
